Fat free and tasty but would I stick with just one? Probably not. I don't know what's the matter with me today, I've been mooching food all day, haven't actually given in yet but the desire is there.

Ditto me Granny. On second glass of wine, sitting on my a&se watching Andy M. Having downed a ready meal with daughters and chunky HM chips ( and salad from the allotment!). I have also snaffled a bag of hula hoops today...what a great diet!!!:o

Supper was lovely, but the garlic bread wasn't quite as I wanted it to be, it was more bready than flat, I need to bake it sooner next time. Having said that, DS3 polished off the lot so it can't have been bad!
I've managed with only one biscotti so far, I plan to have one tonight with my OvaltineThey are very tasty and I made them with that half and half sugar, so they are lower in calories too.
The Bear hates all the rain. He will ask to go out the front door, give the weather a horrified look and walk to the back door. If I am good enough to actually open it for him, I do get a bit fed up opening doors for a cat, he gives me such a filthy look as if I put rain at the front and back of the house!
The Captain, on the other hand, doesn't mind that much, the rain makes plenty of mud to roll in  with his long mane and leg feathers he can be a nightmare to clean.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Was just wondering, Piq, about what PG was saying about other routes to getting a job..you know sandwich board that kinda thing:p no seriously did you ever manage to find out if there were any womens networking groups or small business support groups around you? Still think its worth a shot. Around where I am a lot of opportunities come from people who know each other, rather than the more formal routes
I also think you should eat even more strawberries as you did come second. Its a great result when you had no PS experience..so well done.
Hope weather perks up soon..its blooming miserable and all my allotment crops have been eaten apart from strawberries and salad (and potatoes!). Beans are shot..gone..its as if they were never there! So bang goes that theory of trying to supplement the family larder!
Speak soon
Hugs

I've lost it a bit on the chasing down women's groups, business groups etc, I'm afraid. I must motivate myself into doing it.
The rain has ruined the roses, they've rotted unopened on the bushes. I have one normally magnificent rose, Madame Alfred Carriere that is about 20' high and should be covered in highly scented white flowers, but the rain has caused the buds to rot
I'm having trouble with slugs and snails eating things overnight, I've given in and put down slug pellets I'm afraid. I hate going into the garden in the dark as they're all over the paths and are extremely unpleasant to stand on :eek:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Right, GREAT NEWS - you were interviewed, they liked you and if the idiot they had probably had to offer the job to hadn't been there you would have nailed it - disaster interview timing and so on or not. It is the civil service, as in boys / girls network so DO NOT beat yourself up. Sadly I think a lot of civil service jobs are advertised because they have to and not because they want new blood.
Biscotti ... dribble it may taste of something - but then nothing much tastes of anything due to cold.
I think you're right about the network thing. I've heard about them having to advertise but not taking on anyone from the private sector. I'm sure it's not happening in every setup though.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Oh Yuk, you sound like me. When the fridge indoors is full which doesnt happen often, my wine supply is kept in the garage and I often run out of the back door, barefoot and into the garage at night time, treading on a slug or snail in the process. Very nasty...........one of these days I will remember to put shoes on, but I think my need to get to the wine in a hurry is far greater than my need to put my shoes on first, to then avoid squished snails in between my toes!!

slug issues here too. We have put vinegar and water in a spray bottle and we go out and "attack!" in the evenings.
I have never seen so many, this isn't a problem I ever remember facing in America so trying to get the homicidal tendancy under control with a spray bottle!

Ooh..vinegar and water now that's worth trying. I am just going through packets of blue organic pellets but fear it's a lost cause. Not sure I can face the allotment at the moment but will have to give it a go.
Loved the sun today. Kept wandering around the car park on my work mobile just to soak it up rather than going back inside!!

:eek::eek::eek::eek: to treading on them with bare feet, that has made me cringe :eek:
New Leaf, I'm starting to think of you as the Terminator with you spray gun! Do you mutter the words 'I'll be back' as you turn to blast the unwary with another deadly spray of vinegar?
Blue pellets here, I'll have to put down another lot later as I'm sure the rain will have washed the last lot away. Did I mention the heavy rain?Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
