Hope you've had a good day today and have pushed the rude pig to the very back of your mind today Piq. I'm still astounded and offended on your behalf and wish I'd been a customer there when he said it as I'd have given him what for in not so polite Granny terms

What a cheek he had saying that to you dear Piquant. He should appreciate having such a wonderful staff member and be more respectful. Its a shame you weren't in a position to give him the finger and tell him where to stick his job!

I did that once. I worked in family run business when I was in my early 20's and the boss had a thing about me, but I refused to agree to a date with him, he was weird, had OCD and had too much weight around his middle for my liking LOL anyway, I started dating this lecturer at a local University and he wanted to take me out to lunch on the Monday of the next week.

I told my 'boss' that I was going out for dinner as I had a 'date' when he asked me what I was doing at lunch time. He grilled me as to who this guy was .... he then phoned me 20 minutes before lunch to tell me that I was needed in a meeting in his office now.

I went to the meeting, which was BS and about nothing and Anthony said at 12:55pm 'Sorry, you'll have to cancel your date as this meeting is going to run into lunch time' I explained politely that this wasn't possible, as my date was driving from the city to pick me up and we were going to a restaurant, I had plans. I also said we were not discussing anything of national importance that couldn't wait. I was going to lunch.

To cut a long story short, he then told me 'You walk out that door, you don't come back' with a red face and a glare at me.

I turned, walked to the door, sashayed my !!! at him and said 'See you **** head' and walked out LOL

Yip, I've always been a feisty miss and I know how I would have probably reacted if that boss of yours had called me that!

He'd have a red face for sure and possibly something hot streaming down his face that I poured over his head!

    Poor you xx

G'day Mate, sorry things are even more tit's up than they were but you will get your dream job soon.

It must be family run plant nurseries - I once worked in the office of a wholesale family nursery and was rung up one night by a nice colleague to tell me that they had been going through my desk to see what work I hadn't done, I got told off for not saying 'Good Morning' to everyone when I first walked in (I ain't a morning person!!) and the final straw was when exmanpet rang up not knowing where he was or being able to talk properly and they refused to let me go. I walked out and with the help of my sister and her nice boss managed to find him and get him to hospital it was that bad and they didn't even have the decency to ask me how he was the next day.

Needless to say whilst on my holidays I managed to secure a new job and took great pleasure in sending in my resignation.

Oh and I now pay much closer attention to the lovely people outside my town's Jobcentre, looked like it was a family outing for a few of them last week but I wasn't close enough to see if they were in the their pj's or not lol.

    Alioops x

I don't think it's that unusual in privately owned business'. Small gods think they're master of a large universe. They'd never survive in a large global corporate.

It just shows that all the isms are alive and well out there, sexism, ageism....

Now both of you are lovely feisty girls and stood up for yourselves quite brilliantly. Don't worry about me, I can stand and be counted with the best of them and one day soon I will tell them exactly where they're going wrong and walk out the door, but not until I can properly support the Captain and the Bear.

Soggy is the word that comes to mind! Actually I did have a nice time. I did spend some money on the Captain, I bought him some linseed oil. My research says it helps with sensitive skin and joints and hooves as a bonus will give him a shiny coat. He loved it!

I played ponies with a friend of mine down at the yard. We kept swapping rides and charging round cones and poles. The Captain and his friend Roger the Dodger had great fun too! Basically, we acted like two twelve year old pony mad girls - can't beat it!

I made a batch of soup on my return. I'm on a mission not to waste any food at all. My mum had given me a head of celery in a vegetable box and I haven't used it. I sweated an onion with the celery, added a chopped potato and stock, blitzed it in the blender with some creme fraiche and had a really nice soup. Whilst I was at it, I made some flat bread topped it with the small amount of feta cheese that was leftover and some crushed chilli. That's lunch sorted for a couple of days...

No jobs available today, not unusual for a Monday, hopefully tomorrow. I'll chase up on those potential interviews too - fingers crossed...

You could have had my 11 year old Pony Mad girl come and join you !

I didnt tell you did I, she entered her first little competition last week. She got the Rosette for 2nd place for Best Rider and also a Rosette for the clear rounds. She didnt do the posh dresage stuff though. She took a very large rather spectacular tumble ,when trying to clear her second round which was about 2ft 3, skillfully done a triple back somersault mid air, managed to smack her head on the side of the barn ( it was indoors due to the bad weather) and landed in a rather shell shocked heap on the ground. Give her her due though, she got back up and completed the course ! Such a good girl ,but she gave me a heart attack in the process !

Good luck tomorrow with chasing up those interviews. Glad you had fun today with the Captain ! x

Morning, playing ponies is the best fun, who cares about your age, we used to do stupid things out hacking like really long dresssage stirrups and then jockey style stirrups, then bareback and racing between bushes :D

Well my my what a rude little man! I would have been so tempted to turn around and say very sweetly "I know we are all stressed with the mad rush as there are so few of us but it's nicer when we are polite to each other" whilst carrying on doing the job. And if he repeated some such nonsense I would say "Sorry you feel that way, but you are upsetting me by calling me names which is not nice for the customers to see" and again carry on.

Love to Captain - I know all about getting wet this weekend - I seem to have chased the rain!

    Morning P and Friends

I love playing about games on the ponies too. The yard I am at now has lots of kids and they often do fun stuff. We also play at who can walk the fastest, who can trot the slowest, how few / many canter strides you can get in between fence post :D

Overcast here and quite chilly actually - ridiculous - it just cant make up its mind!

Hugs and kisses for you, Bear and of course darling Captain! I am sure he is your rock in a way at the moment. I know when I feel down my horses always make me smile x

Those triple back somersault in mid air, and smacking your head on the side of the barn are quite difficult to achieve when riding, you know! Acrobatics do not come naturally to all riders! Glad DD is okay and got back on, very brave!
