Really hope you get something else soon.

I did wonder a bit about man pet. I was surprised when you said you hadn't visited his house. Hope you find someone more on your frugal wavelength.

Argh, poor you, but well done for not walking out and leaving the other girl to struggle. I hope you and her BOTH get new jobs before next weekend - imagine his face if neither of you turn up and he has to cope alone :D.

Sorry to hear about the manpet. He obviously wasn't 'the one' x

Oh Piq, nasty nasty owner. Sounds like a terrible day ! I cant believe they called you that , how on earth you stood your ground and didnt walk out I will never know !!

NL, I'm from Essex, so does that mean I can swear on Piqs behalf too, or is it only allowed for you New Yorkers ?!!! :rotfl:

It was a bad day, but it's over now. It was made worse by the sullen second cook being on. And yes, you can swear all you like! I was very tempted...

Oh how rude, I certainly wouldn't be putting any money in the owners pocket, cheap plants or no....

...So I took the rest of my life instead....

I can't bear to put any more money his way. He charges £5 for a cheese baguette! scandalous!!! And I hate the thought of associating a plant with a horrid person.

I love the quote so I took the rest of my life instead absolutely brilliant. I may use that one day soon.

What a cheek - am seething on your behalf [seethe, seethe] Now not sure if thats how its spelt as that doesn't look right. Anyway my dander is up, am on my high horse and he got my goat.

He needs a large supply of liquid horse manure poured slowly over his head. You are so much better than that so hope you do get something else and you can tell them where to stick the job and why......................:mad::mad:

Oh darling teapot you are so lovely! I'm not sure, however, I want to liquidize pooh for him. In comparison, the Captain's pooh is much nicer than him anyway!

Chev you are the lady among us, it must be living in New Zealand, the land of ladies!

Funny that both of us are looking for work on either side of the world, yet are joined by not hearing back from applications and the despondency not working brings.

Man pet texted last night, as if a couple of weeks with no contact had not passed. Telling me all about what's going on in his life. Thing is, it doesn't upset me, I don't love him. That makes me sound hard, but I know I couldn't live with him. I'd end up disliking him intensely. Love would not grow, several people have told me it could, but I know it won't.

I was fuming, but I really need to work and I'm in situation where I can't work too much because of losing my mortgage insurance payment and my NI stamp. The jsa has gone because the mortgage payment is over my actual mortgage amount.

It's experience, maybe I'll be able to take it and get a part-time job in one of the coffee chains if I stick it a little longer. The girl will be going to uni later in the year, so he'll be stuck then. However, there are loads of kids who want the work, so he'll just pick another gullible one!

Bless LAM, calm down. I'm doing it to keep the Captain. No job is too low for him!

I can't take it further he'll throw me out, it's that sort of business. It's not like larger companies. And I don't want to mess things up benefit or moneywise for myself. I'll find something else instead.

What a cheek he had saying that to you dear Piquant. He should appreciate having such a wonderful staff member and be more respectful. Its a shame you weren't in a position to give him the finger and tell him where to stick his job!

I did that once. I worked in family run business when I was in my early 20's and the boss had a thing about me, but I refused to agree to a date with him, he was weird, had OCD and had too much weight around his middle for my liking LOL anyway, I started dating this lecturer at a local University and he wanted to take me out to lunch on the Monday of the next week.

I told my 'boss' that I was going out for dinner as I had a 'date' when he asked me what I was doing at lunch time. He grilled me as to who this guy was .... he then phoned me 20 minutes before lunch to tell me that I was needed in a meeting in his office now.

I went to the meeting, which was BS and about nothing and Anthony said at 12:55pm 'Sorry, you'll have to cancel your date as this meeting is going to run into lunch time' I explained politely that this wasn't possible, as my date was driving from the city to pick me up and we were going to a restaurant, I had plans. I also said we were not discussing anything of national importance that couldn't wait. I was going to lunch.

To cut a long story short, he then told me 'You walk out that door, you don't come back' with a red face and a glare at me.

I turned, walked to the door, sashayed my !!! at him and said 'See you **** head' and walked out LOL

Yip, I've always been a feisty miss and I know how I would have probably reacted if that boss of yours had called me that!

He'd have a red face for sure and possibly something hot streaming down his face that I poured over his head!

    Poor you xx

G'day Mate, sorry things are even more tit's up than they were but you will get your dream job soon.

It must be family run plant nurseries - I once worked in the office of a wholesale family nursery and was rung up one night by a nice colleague to tell me that they had been going through my desk to see what work I hadn't done, I got told off for not saying 'Good Morning' to everyone when I first walked in (I ain't a morning person!!) and the final straw was when exmanpet rang up not knowing where he was or being able to talk properly and they refused to let me go. I walked out and with the help of my sister and her nice boss managed to find him and get him to hospital it was that bad and they didn't even have the decency to ask me how he was the next day.

Needless to say whilst on my holidays I managed to secure a new job and took great pleasure in sending in my resignation.

Oh and I now pay much closer attention to the lovely people outside my town's Jobcentre, looked like it was a family outing for a few of them last week but I wasn't close enough to see if they were in the their pj's or not lol.

    Alioops x
