Congrats on the gold sales, that's brilliant and it will take the pressure of for a while. I've been looking into that myself although I don't have much, just a couple of old rings. I've been on their website and seen the pricing guide, but how do you know what carat your gold is? Or do you just leave that to them?

Good luck with getting those interviews and hopefully you will soon be able to leave your waitressing career behind you. Totally agree about wearing trainers, comfort above all else in a job like that.

Hope the evening out was fun, just what you needed I think. We don't hear much about man pet nowadays, is he off the scene? x

I had a fantastic night out. One of my friends insisted on buying the wine for us. I'd already come clean and said I couldn't afford to drink so would be having water and I was quite happy with it.

It was a yard birthday dinner, so lots of girly conversation about horses, clothes, men, especially men! and food!

I had no idea what carat the gold was. I left it to them. If you're not sure pop into a local jeweller and ask them to identify it for you. You could also ask what they're buying for too as a comparison. I looked on a few other sites and the site I used was offering a lot more. The turnaround speed was astonishing. Posted Monday, money on Thursday.

Man pet is not officially off the scene but I don't see him very much anymore. We don't live together as you know, in fact as I've said before I've never been to his house.

I got a bit annoyed with him that I was always doing the cooking even though I have no money to spare. He won't eat pasta or rice, which makes cheap meals a little more difficult. He says he has no money either, and of course, I know that appearances can be deceptive. However, he's still ordering wine by the caseload for his cellar, drives a £100k car and is buying designer clothes....but he can't afford to go for a voucher type meal.

He threw a hissy fit at me working as a waitress/dishwasher operative, felt it was beneath me! And when he realised I'd be too tired to cook on a Saturday night he didn't come up with any alternatives. So....

I'm finding it a little annoying having to listen to his continual tales of woe inbetween his daughters continual texting and calls. Selfishly, I've too much on my plate at the moment.

Fairly sure he's not the one :rotfl:

I think man pet and I have just drizzled out. We were supposed to go to a Jubilee BBQ at the yard last night and he said he couldn't make it as one of his daughters might be coming down. Bearing in mind the BBQ has been in the diary for ages and the daughter is 32 I felt it was a pretty lame excuse and said so. Might have also mentioned that I didn't think we had any sort of future together if he couldn't leave his daughters for a couple of hours unattended...

Naturally, I still went to the party and had a good time without him.

I made a couple of quiches for the party and they were lush! And made with leftovers and stuff already in the fridge, wrinkly tomatoes and homemade pastry - good combination.

I slow-roasted the tomatoes for an hour and half in olive oil, they were amazing, much nicer than sun-dried tomatoes. Put them in stylish circles in the flan cases, shredded fresh basil over them and added the normal quiche mix and lots of grated parmesan cheese.

The quiches were decimated in less than five minutes and I now have to post the recipe up on the memo board. Except there isn't a recipe it's just a throw together.
