The Bear had first breakfast at 5:15!

Next thing I know is the chap sits down at the table with us and offers me a job working at Pr*t every weekend! Yes please :D:D:D:D:D:D

I will be able to tell the kn*b where to stick his job!

Didn't hear back from Ald* so that's a no-go, but I'm not sorry I don't think I would have liked it. Definitely, going to see about the stable job tomorrow, if it was a few hours in the week that would work very well.

    Hurrah for me!

Naughty Bear but maybe he could sense the positive vibes coming from you :)

Fantastic news about Pr3t, so very pleased for you and cannot wait to hear you regaling us of your trip to tell the kn0b to st1ck his job.

    Hurrah for Piq

Yes, I'm feeling really good. It's a little more money and it's going to mess up my jsa, but I'm going to lose that anyway due to the mortgage insurance. I still am not going to earn anywhere near enough to live on, but I am working and Pr*t are a respectable company and I sort of know the people there and like them.

I will continue to look for other work, maybe my luck's turning and something that pays enough is heading my way.

Ps The Bear is not into positive vibes, he is completely tummy orientated and likes to get at least two breakfasts a day...

Loved the Bear story :rotfl: I've had the same fish breath & raspy tongue on the nose experience in the past so know exactly where you're coming from :D

Oops, from a cat I hasten to add!! ;)

Piq, I'm so glad you're able to leave the garden centre job, the Pr3t job sounds much better.

Back to lurking, but I'm still rooting for you in the background!! :)

The one time I thought I was dieing in bed was because my cat was sitting right on my chest when I was asleep. He was pretty heavy too. Didn't stay on my chest long though, when I woke up gasping all limbs flying trying to breath though.

Yeah to the pr&t job. but maybe don't burn your bridges with garden centre person. You don't know who's ear he might have on the old boys network....

Fab news ... admire a man's coffee machine, I had never thought of that one! Seriously, am delighted for you. I survived working for a truly horrible "family firm" for a fair few months - looking back, I don't know how I did. Actually, I do - no other work, cats horses and man to feed (not always in that order). The "family" were politically slightly to the right of Attila the Hun - or maybe that's a slur on Attila, who may well have been a lovely chap and kind to kittens. The family made me sign a document thingy they drew up, that I agreed not to blaspheme - and apparently lots of the phrases I use on a daily basis are blasphemous. I never knew .... Gad, it was a relief when I left. Actually, they sacked me, and when I asked why (always useful to know for the future), they just said that everything I had done for them had been "exemplary" .... confusing. But now I much prefer being self-employed!

I cringed a bit with the lady at the jobcentre, some people are a little officious sometimes.
What I dont get is your mortgage payments, I take it you are contribution based? Once you go onto income based they will pay the interest on your mortgage for you, obviously not the endowment.. The problem you had in the first place where they wanted to know about your mortgage was probably if you go onto income based they will need to know about: Your mortgage provider: The amount of your loan, and the interest you are paying....
I am unsure why they would view the payments from your insurance company as income if they are going to then pay your mortgage for you... Who has told you this? You really need to get clarification as soon as possible... I am not at work for another two weeks... long story !!!

Tell me what has been said to you and I will have a look for you...
Great news on the coffee shop job!!!

I loved the bear story, like you we put down dry food all the time but once hungry a cat will not wait, and as his personal slave I felt it was rather mean of you to pretend to be asleep, you should have jumped up straight away and fed poor bear :):)
