    Hi Piq et al
Sorry to hear things are not so good Piq - here's hoping that a job crops up very soon - fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you.

Have you tried zinc oxide cream for the Captain's pink bits? I use it on my little coloured who has very pink muzzle and eyes, it is a complete sunblock and almost impossible to shift. It isn't that easy to find, but my chemist orders it for me specially - cheap too!

I finish work next Friday - no job lined up yet, although have only applied for 2 so far, I have a month's works experience lined up at a school in June so hopefully that will look good on my cv!

    Hope things get sorted soon!

    Noo

Wow! Your OH works in a cex shop! and you don't like it? Does he bring home things from work ;)

Thanks for the advice on the councils. I suspected they were like that, so are the DWP.

I'm dreading making token payments. I've virtually cleared all of my debts I hate the thought of them spiraling out again. :( Not sure how I'm going to deal with that.

I adore Aussies, be as blunt as you like. As long as you write to me in an Aussie accent you will be forgiven anything!

G'day cobber how's it goin? nothin worse than dealing with people with a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock bloody flaming galah's. Off to crack open a tinny and put a couple o' shrimps on the barbie (enough aussie for ya :p).

I work for Adult Services and he works for CeX - my Dad used it in his father of the bride speech. "They were obviously meant for each other with Husbandpet working in a CeX shop and Alioops working in Adult Services" cue lots of laughter all round.

Your debts will not spiral out of control as you are on here and you know what you need to do to keep afloat. Yes you have paid off so much and I admire you for it however you have to think of what is best for you and your redundancy money is not going to be there indefinitely as you've already said. Stop thinking that it is failure on your part (just a guess) but at least making token payments and getting the interest frozen is going to be better than losing your house.

    Much hugs
    Alioops x

I totally agree with Alioops, you have achieved fantastic things over the last couple of years and its time you gave yourself a break. You are not super woman, despite it seeming like that to me with all that you have achieved. As I said before, your priorities are your roof, your food, yourself and Captain, please feel free to put them in whatever order you wish. Anything else comes secondary.

Big hugs, hope things turn around soon for you.

I'm back! Had to go awol yesterday. I did a shift at the coffee shop and felt awful when I got home. Too hot, tired, sick and a headache. Just couldn't join in here. I have never worked so hard in my life!

I went to bed at 8 o'clock only to be woken by the Bear yakking up all over my bed  Changed the bed at 3 o'clock put the bedding in the washing machine. Got up at 7 to find a huge pooh in the middle of the bath mat and no, it wasn't mine - the Bear again. Bathmat now hosed down and in the washing machine....

The Bear hasn't been himself since he had his teeth out. I think the trip to the vet upset him in many ways and he hasn't got over it. He is very needy and calls me loudly if he can't see me until I answer. He often sits just staring at nothing, which creeps me out a little. He makes a horrible mess with his food, I'm guessing this is because he has so few teeth and doesn't seem to enjoy it so much. He now sleeps with his head hanging off the chair so he's upside down, he's nearly fallen off a couple of times. He also keeps trying to lick me then will hold my finger between his teeth, not biting just holding.

He's not the happy cat he was and I don't know how to cheer him up. I ought to take him back to the vet but I'm loathe to upset him further with the journey there. Poor Bear!

I'll wave at all of you who've been posting and answer you in a little bit. Need a shower - no mat will have to put a towel on the floor....
