Sorry life is so pants, seriously there must be a job somewhere with your name on.

I am similar to you that I would give up almost anything before I give up the horse. Definitely worth considering possibly moving livery, not sure what you are on? I do DIY, bloomin hard work but its the only way can afford it.

Oh Piq, is there any one you can approach to perhaps share the Captain for a few days a week in return for e.g. shoes or contribution to livery etc? and as BB says DIY or grass for the summer only? DIY I always found was more expensive by the time you have added fuel for the running about getting stock and so on.
If you want a fresh pair of eyes on the CV then happy to assist - send me a PM.
There is a job out there, go for the highest possible one you can (or want) as it gives the impression of wanting to work in that role for that company rather than I need money and so I will keep looking and may leave if a better job comes up. No one likes recruiting and ideally wants to get a person in for a good long while.

Delurking just to say that I once read that if a job description had 10 requirements, women would apply if they met 8 of the requirements whereas men would apply if they met only 5 of the requirements.

On this basis, I would feel justified in applying for roles where I only had some of the necessary skills and would "talk up" anything I could to imply I could meet the remaining requirements.

I really hope you find a job soon. You do deserve it.

You know the rules! No more going back into lurk mode...now you've come out, you have to stay out :) Hello chocforever! That's an interesting statistic, it doesn't surprise me. Men seem to be better at pushing themselves forward and blagging it out. I've always worked in male orientated companies and it is just accepted that quite often they have no idea how to do the job they've come into!

I'll try to become an honory bloke in my cover letters..

I agree with granny if you can't meet all of your commitments, then concentrate on the things you HAVE to pay. Which is mortgage, council tax, (until you sort the benefit out). heat and light (not water they won't cut you off i don't think), food and the captain. Everyone else will have to go whistle. That 3 months worth of redundancy must cover the above for as long as possible. So all the others get a bit of your JSA payment.

    good luck

    Thanks chev

Most of my direct debits come out of my account on 25th of the month so it's too late to do anything this month. I won't be able to cancel the direct debit and if I don't write to the companies concerned when they apply for the payment and it is refused I'll get hit with multiple charges.

I have a large overdraft, which I am maxed to. It's the cheapest of my debts so I've left it until last. However, the bank naturally will try to reclaim their money taking anything that lands there including the mortgage money.

I have another account with no connections to any of my other banks up and running. I will start moving things over to that over the next week.

I've never missed a payment and I feel horribly guilty that I'm probably going to. I know that the fact I've paid off £45k of debt counts for nothing to them and they're going to be horrible about it.

I have to think realistically, the Captain is the love of my life, but he's horrendously expensive. He's already on DIY livery and costs me £20 a week for that. His shoes are £65 every six weeks and there's feed and bedding. He won't go through so much bedding in the summer. He has to come in during the day in the summer as he burns badly and won't keep a mask on!

    Puppy snogs for you

There is no-one that I would share him with, certainly no-one that would pay to ride him. Although only a cob, he's not a novice ride. Not dangerous in any way, just won't move and keeps stopping to go to the toilet if they try to insist. I have to stand in the middle and glare at him, then he'll grudgingly walk on.

Because he's older, 26, he can't be used for jumping. I let him jump tiny cross poles because he loves jumping. But I've noticed his back legs aren't coming up so high anymore and he brings anything over second hole down. He so loves the jumps though, he doesn't care how small they are he tanks round like a three year old. I'd worry continually that someone else might jump him on a day he too stiff or that he'll do it anyway and hurt himself.

Please can I take you up on the offer of the CV, that may help, I don't really see it anymore as I read what should be there - that makes no sense, but I know what I mean!

Enjoying a puppy snog - thanks!

    Thanks missrir!

I can testify to that, having been on the interviewer's side of the table:rotfl:

If I've missed someone already offering this, apologies, but have you looked at Kindle Self Publishing?

There are a lot of short stories appearing on now - maybe try out with a couple of Captain stories and see how it goes?

Maybe the blokes that apply for jobs they aren't qualified for do so as they have a nagging other half that make them do it :rotfl:.

I know I did with the husbandpet a few years ago but he's now found his dream job of working with geeky things in a cexshop which unfortunately means minimum wage but he loves it so I can't complain...... but I do :o.

With regards to anything Council, as I work for one I do know some workings however if you are relying on things posted into your council don't if our mailroom is anything to go by. I would physically hand anything in to them at your local town hall. The amount of times I get mail for a completely different building is unbelievable considering all they have to do all day is sort mail and deliver it, you'd think they'd actually know where people worked by now. Sorry rant over.

I understand your pain on the job front, I once went for 5 interviews in one day. I actually had a file that I stuck all the jobs I applied for into, then marked whether I had an interview or rejection etc. Basically you make a job of trying to find a job.

I am reading just don't think I have anything worthwhile to say that much but will pipe in when I feel I must (I'm an Aussie it's what we do oh and if it's too blunt tough :p)

Good luck with everything and follow the advice of everyone in making token payments (in my department we have someone paying back a debt at £2.00 per week, the debt has been going for approx 10 years now and it's still going) you must make sure you have a roof over your head.

    Love
