I have saved the letter and will use it.

Jobs have been applied for today, and I will use a little more flexibility on tomorrows applications.

    Hi Piq

Just catching up..was so pleased to see your new job...then all these rules about payments etc...it's a bloo@y indictment of how mixed up things are in this country if you ask me:mad: it's the advisers not knowing their stuff and getting it all wrong that I particularly hate and I wish it were an unfortunate one off but I know it's not.

I know I have suggested this before, as others have, but I do think taking in a lodger, with extra cash if you provide food would be a good supplement to your writing. Mondays to Fridays maybe?

I am SOOOO praying that you get a break here. And I am spectacularly irreligious...so that's a sign of how much I rate you. Keep on going. Am sure I wouldbe a blubbering heap by now so your tenacity and perseverance is an example to us all..and especially me...

Hugs and large glasses of wine.. ( and cake)

The world has gone mad when those that want to work can't!

I love the idea of my favourite heathen praying for me :rotfl:Seen any good lightening bolts yet?

I do blubber, I blubbed before I got out of bed this morning. I blubbed over the Captain's mane this afternoon. He hugged me, then blew snot down my neck. A horse hugging you is a magical thing. Horse snot is snot!

You are right. I need to put some of my dreams on the back burner for a while and find a full time job as quickly as I can. Having said that, I've not stopped applying for jobs, since January I have applied for 423 different roles. Today I applied for three and have two left to do.

I don't want to lose my home, but even less do I want to lose the Captain, I truly couldn't bear it. I haven't done everything I should have today, I needed to go and see him to get things in perspective.

423 - blimey! Respect, Piq, I couldn't do that. I knew there was a reason I was self-employed ... there are quite a few "premium" (still low pay, but not quite as low) mystery shopping jobs around at the moment, as it's getting towards the end of the month, so do bear that in mind. I do feel for you with the cafe job, I have done that too, wanted to cry but could not decide which bit of me ached most - back, feet or pride. You WILL get through this rough patch, with the Captain, we are all here rooting for you hugely. Love & hugs, the (fruit)cake xx

No lightning bolts...good weather in fact so maybe it's a good omen:D

PM me if there is anything I can do to help in the RW

Hugs and more hugs to you and the Captain

Glad you liked the picture and hope the letter proves useful.

I cannot believe how many job applications you have sent off, although after being out of work following serious ill-health in 2001, I spent months of applying for anything and everything within my physical capabilities. Some of them were out of my remit mentally mind you, eg applying to be an estate agent when I can easily get lost in my local indoor market. I got so desperate in the end I started becoming a bit economical with the truth on my applications. It came right in the end though, as I'm sure it will for you.

I'm a firm believer in things happen for a reason, although for the life of us we can't see it at the time.

Here's hoping things improve soon for you.

Big hugs and best wishes for a brighter future Gx2 x

  • You are back! Have been wondering about you. Glad you have returned. You have been missed.

So so sorry to hear about the redundancies and everything.

Have you thought about a sharer or changing livery terms? My chap is on grass livery and it's saved me a small fortune. Appreciate that it's not for everyone. Saying that think my lad would rather be back in the land of stabling but unfortunately with the cost of hay and bedding going up and up and everything else something had to give.

Delurking just to say that I once read that if a job description had 10 requirements, women would apply if they met 8 of the requirements whereas men would apply if they met only 5 of the requirements.

On this basis, I would feel justified in applying for roles where I only had some of the necessary skills and would "talk up" anything I could to imply I could meet the remaining requirements.

I really hope you find a job soon. You do deserve it.

Hi Piq, sorry to hear you are so down, it is very understandable though - uncertainty is awful. I hope you are getting 'real-life' support as you go through all this. Are your children/parents/man-pet in a position to help you? Not necessarily financially (though that's a thought), but even just by going with you to the council or CAB etc to lend moral support. It can make such a difference, having someone by your side, so I hope you feel you can ask them for help x

I agree with granny if you can't meet all of your commitments, then concentrate on the things you HAVE to pay. Which is mortgage, council tax, (until you sort the benefit out). heat and light (not water they won't cut you off i don't think), food and the captain. Everyone else will have to go whistle. That 3 months worth of redundancy must cover the above for as long as possible. So all the others get a bit of your JSA payment.

    good luck
