Anyone on a DMP with CCCS?

Thank you for your replies, we think she needs to cancel the dds as TSB may pay them and compound the debt and overdraft charges, the new bank dont do a switch over for them but said we just need to contact the companies and give the new sort code and account number to them which we plan to do tomorrow.
Could someone point me towards the letter templates mentioned on here I cant see them.
Tsb have indeed kept giving her money they know she can not afford last time she was called in they gave her some income and outgoing forms and told her to see the CAB so they know something has to give. my brother and sister in law (my side of the family) were bank managers for TSB for a long time (not now) and they are appalled and say she should see the ombudsman re this as the advice given was very bad, but she just cannot cope with anything else at the moment but it is something I will look into when everything is set up and settled down, also she did ask the bank whether they had paid PPI on the loans TSB said not since 2005 but that seems a bit of a coincidence to me considering this is the cut off point!!! so again I will look into this for her when things calm down, she does want to pay her bills but is really frightened of facing the bank etc, me I will give them what they deserve but I have to do what she wants I am ever hopefull her confidence will return.
She has never done any banking or the like online (although she is okay with somethings online) not bills etc I am going to show her how to do all of this, so she can see how things are going.
I must admit I did think CCCS would do most of the work but reading some posts it seems she will have to be more proactive hope we can sort this
Thanks again

Have you written to each of your creditors explaining you are on a DMP and asking them to freeze the interest? Some will do it automatically after a couple of months but if they don't, try a letter, it's worth it for just the cost of stamp ... but buy the stamps now before they go up on the 30th.
Thanks, yes I have. I'm too skint to stockpile stamps, plus Royal Mail seem to be holding them back deliberately now and throttling supply, how pathetic!CCCS do a lot of work but you need to be pro-active too and keeping your balances up to date on the CCCS website is important. If any of your debts change hands, e.g. move to a credit collection agency etc, you also need to change that on the website.
The way we look at it is that the debts are ours, we are the ones who took out the cards, loans etc and spent the money so it's our responsibility to look after the money that is being paid now. CCCS is the middle man who actually makes the payments but we keep control. Getting involved is part of the mindset change that is needed to be on a DMP, doing nothing and wanting CCCS to do it all could be seen as still burying one's head in the sand. We had our lightbulb moment and now we need to keep that lightbulb burning brightly
If you need any help with the letters, let me know and I will copy and paste the one I use here, or you can find it on the DMP Mutual Support thread.
Thanks. As I have posted previously (and elsewhere) I am fully aware the only person that got me into this mess, is me. That's why I got myself onto a DMP with CCCS and want to pay it all back (well, minus the interest and charges and fees some are adding on). Just don't think I can keep going for another 18 years like thisGood luck
Cheers to you .0 -
Hi, just popped back to say I received a Notice of Default from The RBS today and also one from MINT, so at least they will stop charging interest in 30 days time..0

I'm confused about the default thing, we have only actually had one default letter but several creditors have already stopped interest. Can they default you without letting you know?
And isn't it better that they default you early on so that it drops off your credit file earlier? Though that's probably a bit irrelevant because we have both resolved we never want credit again so who cares about credit checks
Either way, it's great news that you will have interest frozen on those two. Fingers crossed for the others :TLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

I think they have to let you know when they default you by law, 1974 Credit Act or something. Like you, I had some creditors stop interest and charges and dropped it to 0% APR from the off (MBNA and Northern Rock!). My Royal Bank of Scotland MASTERCARD and the RBS MINT cards have now been "defaulted" and the interest will be frozen within 28 days of the letters received. Sorry I don't have them to hand. And isn't it better that they default you early on so that it drops off your credit file earlier? Yes! :TEither way, it's great news that you will have interest frozen on those two. Fingers crossed for the others :T

The only creditor left who isn't playing ball is Barclaycard, and CCCS wrote to tell me that Barclaycard won't accept CCCS's offer to them!
And, my old Royal Bank of Scotland bank account with the near £200 overdraft owed on it, keeps getting £2.60 a month in charges adding to it, despite me telling them I was going on a DMP, despite my £1 token offer that they still haven't cashed, and despite CCCS paying them £5 a month!
Oh well, what doesn't kill you drives you insane eh?.0 -
Hi
Just to clear up something here. Issuing a default doesn't mean that interest will be frozen. A default is issued when you have failed to keep up with the contractural arrangement and has to be issued before court action can begin. THIS DOES NOT MEAN COURT ATION IS INEVITABLE, far from it. I've had a few now and no court action at all in two years)
I wouldn't bank on interest being frozen (especially M&S, i'm in the middle of a FOS battle with them) as each lender seems to act differently with different debtors. However as your payments are low they may freeze interest for a period (say a year) and then look at it again then. Mine was frozen by Barclaycard and M&S and then reinstated after a year.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I thought you should know.

Hi I was just reading through your posts and thought I would tell that I entered a DMP in May 2002 with the CCCS it took until Aug that year for everything to be sorted out. I photocopied all my letters and sent them to the CCCS. Once your plan is up and running it will run smoothly. I get paid on the 14th of the month and I send a faster payment straight to the CCCS as soon as my wages go in. Not ideal but so far it has worked and there are no transaction charges.
Once my plan was up and running I used Martin's template letter for charges to be refunded I explained that I was on a DMP and some of the companies did refund my charges. This was taken of my balance.
At the end of last year I tried reclaiming PPI on my debts ...It took quite a few attempts and i am still waiting for one to respond this has taken 2 and a half years of my debt free date. It is now 2019.
Good Luck..0 -

Yep, we've had the same issue. They accepted originally but now, because it's gone down a bit, they're not accepting - although neither are they not cashing the cheques! Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

The Royal Bank of Scotland (my old bank account) still haven't cashed the £1 postal order, and are still adding interest charges to my £200 overdraft on the old account.... CCCS pay them £5 a month, yet they then add like £3 in charges so it'll take forever to clear that amount.0
