Our finish date was 15 years away when we first started. You need to chill a little, you make me feel dizzy reading your thread ;-)
Ring cccs and tell them you don't have enough to live off. Your budget should allow you a life while still repaying everything.
Must admit your car insurance is totally insane......how can they charge you so much??

Take a deep breath hun and breathe it out slow. Your dmp will get sorted just give them chance.

Rochdale_Guy it does take a good 4 -6 months for every thing to settle down. Some creditors are very slow in stopping interest charges. One took me nearly a year but then the interest charged was all back dated :D Worth bearing in mind the CCCS payment to your creditors gets to them about 25 days later (this is how they help to fund things). Good luck & don't panic.

    Hello again.

I just wanted to say CALM DOWN!!!!

Seriously, you'll make yourself ill whirring around at this speed. I have been like this in the past when I was suffering from acute stress. It's not nice and it tends to feed itself - if you know what I mean. Try to slow down, stop over thinking everything and over-analysing every nuance of every aspect of every issue! The continued hyper-stressed state will only lead to a bad situation.

On the CCCS thing - are you sure you have the right email address? I've never had an email bounced back and I do use that method frequently.

On the no contact / little contact with creditors. I'm afraid that you really need to accept that this initial period is messy and can be convoluted when it comes to letters going back and forth. Just try and be patient. The contact will be in the pipeline, somewhere.

As BR says, let CCCS do their thing. You're going to have to have faith that their processes are running normally and things are happening. Ignore the demand letters from the creditors, they are superfluous right now.

On the car insurance, have you tried the different comparison websites? I was recently talking to an insurance broker and he said to always use the big three and compare across them. Martin MSE has some advice somewhere about getting lower premiums.

    But, overall, just CALM DOWN

    Thank you SAAC.

Good advice there, I am trying to relax too.

I will begin my assault on the price comparison websites for cheaper car insurance in T- 5 days and counting, then post probably another thread on here in a totally bitter yet distressed state moaning how unfair life is and I need an answer NOW! :rotfl:

Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself - let someone else do it ;)

    Hi Rochdale-Guy

I too am on a DMP, get paid on 15th of month but CCCS payment due on 1st of month.

    My solution...

Opened a savings account linked to my basic bank account with Co-op. The savings account is purely for DMP, absolutely NOTHING else, I don't even know the PIN for the card ! :D

15th - Get paid salary into Main Bank account, transfer DMP amount into linked savings account.

30th - transfer DMP money back into main bank account

1st - CCCS DD takes money for DMP

By doing it this way my DMP money is "ringfenced" and cannot be spent. I'm so used to doing it this way that it has become second-nature every month without fail.
    Works a treat for me...:T

BTW my debt free date is 2040...yes, thats right 2040

Thanks Chrisblue1962, good idea, although I do have a Cashminder account and a Coop saver account already! :D

As for my 2030 v your 2040 debt free date, well I shall bid a hasty retreat and hand that unfortunate crown over to you :(

Rochdale you make me smile. i used to be like you, i would stress and flap about everything. Yes it is good to consider what ifs but don't make yourself ill worrying about them. What will be will be and in 17 years and 10 months (if not sooner) you will be sat chilling with a beer thinking 'and that was that'
Good luck, keep calm and dmp!

I find some of the stories on here a little odd. I have a standing order set up with CCCS which comes out on the 15th. No problems at all. Also, CCCS are very good at answering emails, especially from the forms on their website.

When I first started with CCCS (was refused by payplan) it was going to take 88 years to pay back my debt. 5 years later and I have just short of 5 years to go!
