Anyone on a DMP with CCCS?
Comments
-
Just to add I'm not overly happy with CCCS.
They seem fine when you first phone up (usually in tears and sheer embarrassment), and encourage you to complete a Debt Remedy Plan (DMP), then once you're accepted, apart from a few forms, you're left totally alone, which I know for a lot of people is exactly what they need for peace of mind, but I'm the kind of sad, needy (desparate?) person who likes to be informed of what's happening step by step
I tried emailing them again, emails bounced back.
Sent them a message (with attachment) through the my DMP section of the website, when logged in, I asked for response, even if a "yes, we got your message", but nothing. And i know they are busy.
Tried the "live chat" on their website, no one ever available.
I can't call from work, no privacy, and I am out in the mornings when they open, and not back in time when they shut at 6pm.....
I just need to flippin know if they have received the (important to me) paperwork I am sending them, as RBS are upping their demands and when I rang them, they haven't had much off CCCS than I am now a client of theirs, they haven't even sent RBS my statement of affairs or proposed what their slice of my monthly payment will be going to RBS. CCCS took their first payment today, by the way.
And, can anyone see on the "My DMP" section when logged in, what CCCS are offering each creditor? It's a inconvenience having to trawl through my filed away papers just to find the sheet that they posted me a long time ago....
I know they are a charity and do all this for free (from my side of things), but I don't even know how many of the creditors they have contacted yet, I know they haven't given The Royal Bank of Scotland people much info yet, and when I spoke to the RBS collections persons earlier, she mentioned I also have a MINT Visa card and went and checked that, and said there was NOTHING showing on the system yet from CCCS.
I reckon MINT will also refuse to play ball and NOT freeze / dramatically lower my APR as CCCS allegedly haven't even contacted MINT yet!
So why are they taking the £126 monthly direct debit off me today?
Maybe I'm just tired and extremely narky, and want to hibernate for a month of two, but that won't stop the letters coming and I reckon CCCS still wouldn't have responded in that time frame.....
Oh well, there's none as blind as them who can't hear.....0 -

ok, stop biting the hand that feeds
First bit of advice - try and stop worrying (and believe me I am the world's best worrier) it'll all start going through the motions very soon.
If any of your creditors write to you, just send them by return of post, the CCCS template letter telling them that you're on a DMP with CCCS and to contact them.
Why are you feeling the need to micro-manage this? Allow the CCCS to do their thing, it'll be fine, I promise.
There might be creditors who don't reduce or freeze interest at the beginning - that's not down to CCCS, that's down to their own good will.
Why not join the DMP support thread - loads of people in there doing new DMPs and other who have been on them for yearsOur LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93

Thank you. Love your avatar picture by the way :rotfl:
I'm not trying to micro-manage things (or am I?).
I just would like to know what A is saying to B, and what B is saying back to A, and less of the B writing to me, and I go running to A saying are you listening to me?, please respond to me! B is chasing me, and I just wanna hide and catch some ZZZzzzzzs! Is that to much to ask?
Follow that? Me neither :rotfl:
I just get a very bitter taste in my mouth when one of the creditors says they haven't even received a statement of affairs or offer off CCCS yet.
But then again, the creditors are the enema's and why should I trust them?
A: Because CCCS are telling me Jack Ship that's why
I need a chill pill, ASAP..0 -

Thanks - I have it on a coaster here at home too.
Well perhaps a little bit, yes
The CCCS do not contact us unless there's something they need to contact us about. For example, they sent an email telling us that 'so & so' had told them that they wouldn't accept the DMP until we closed the account. That meant we then had trauma with 'so & so' trying to get them to do so, but eventually they did and all is well.
It's a pain that you're unable to ring them then they're open, but you could write perhaps, send as recorded delivery when sending documents, then you'd know the CCCS had got them as you can track them online.
A *will* be talking to B, B will be talking to A at times and to you at others. B will sometimes contact you because (like what happened to us today) their computer just churns stuff out.
Basic rule of thumb - either totally ignore stuff from B or respond with the CCCS template letter telling them you're in a DMP with CCCS
It's ok you know, it gets easier and we're only on month three of our DMP xOur LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Thank you again!
The thing is, (as everyone on here already unfortunately knows), I have already written to all my creditors saying I am in deep doody & can't manage, but here's a £1 token payment and I am going on a DMP with CCCS!
(BTW, if they merged with those furniture stores would they be CCCSDFSCSL?) Sorry, meds kicking in
The only ones to reply are the ones who have accepted my situation and frozen interest, i.e. Northern Rock (NRAM) and incredibly MBNA!
I have obviously had this stuff from The RBS re: my Mastercard with them, and the extra charges etc etc, but still nothing from Barclaycard, MINT or OPUS
I know they don't have to freeze / lower interest, but they haven't even acknowlegded my recorded delivery letters.
And if they won't do that, then they are rude ignorant money grabbing barstewards who will turn round and eventually not play ball and refuse the CCCS offer, if CCCS have even made an offer to them yet?
Oh, I need a lie down, I know I keep repeating myself, I'm sorry.
If I could turn back time eh?.0 -
Yep, we had also sent a template letter saying that we were struggling, with a token payment, but we also did it again (sans payment) a second time with a couple of creditors.
"CCCSDFSCSL" probably, but let's hope they don't join with B&Q as well!
Yes, MBNA have stopped our interest as well, and Capital One although Barclaycard is very quiet but I get the impression that's not unusual. Yorkshire Bank, though, is going to be a pain in the bum I think as we have a OD and a loan (the biggest debt) with them,.
Basically, even if they don;t accept the DMP to begin with, the CCCS will still send them the payment and the creditors will accept it, and yet complain that it's not enough - but the mantra of the DMP support thread is "They can't have what you haven't got"Our LBM: Dec 2011. I forgot to give you all the wonderful news....
Tried getting a quote from Direct Line for my car insurance due in April, as they offered interest free repayments over 12 months - which is what I have to go for now I am on a DMP - and you could get a quote before midnight on 29th February that would be valid for 90 days, yippee I thought :j
I currently pay £1,018 for fully comp with ADMIRAL, and will have 2 years no claims come April (touch wood).
Hoping I'd get it down to the £800 mark, this it the Direct Line quote:
Yes, that IS £1,388
!!!!!!? That is shocking, and doesn't bode well for when it's time to start getting price comparison quotes in a few weeks. Direct Line don't even ask where you keep the vehicle overnight, what security you have and what you use the car for and how many days a week. I know you're then meant to phone them up, but come on, £1,388 for a 04 reg Ford Fiesta that isn't used for commuting, is locked in a secure garage overnight (and most of the day), and I have a Thatcham III approved steering lock when it is left parked somewhere..... jeez
If no one can offer me anything near £800, I'm gonna have to jack all this DMP business in, go bankrupt, and lose everything despite wanting to pay back every penny of debt I have racked up. :wall:
And to make things worse while on my DMP, my garage rent is going up come April, only another £1 a week, but that's £4 a month extra to find.... but the real kick in the teeth is the flat rent that is going up from £77.40 a week to........ £83.97, JFC
That's an extra £6.57 a week, or £26.28 a month to find:mad: :wall:
I was gonna contact CCCS after a month to ask them to reduce my £126 monthly payment as I am living on fresh air and baked beans as it is, but now have to find an extra £30+ come April is soul destroying
And the fact that Rochdale Council is freezing salaries for the 3rd year running, and staff are being forced to take 6 days unpaid leave, and my hours are going up all for no extra salary increase while everything around me goes up, well, it's just soul destroying.
I really don't know why CCCS took me on as client, because come on, surely I must have the longest debt free date going on these forums..... 17 years and 10 months?
Someone prove me wrong and beat that.... 17 years of living like this, sorry, existing from day to day more like
Just what is the point? :wall:
Yours,

Hello again.
I just wanted to say CALM DOWN!!!!
Seriously, you'll make yourself ill whirring around at this speed. I have been like this in the past when I was suffering from acute stress. It's not nice and it tends to feed itself - if you know what I mean. Try to slow down, stop over thinking everything and over-analysing every nuance of every aspect of every issue! The continued hyper-stressed state will only lead to a bad situation.
On the CCCS thing - are you sure you have the right email address? I've never had an email bounced back and I do use that method frequently.
On the no contact / little contact with creditors. I'm afraid that you really need to accept that this initial period is messy and can be convoluted when it comes to letters going back and forth. Just try and be patient. The contact will be in the pipeline, somewhere.
As BR says, let CCCS do their thing. You're going to have to have faith that their processes are running normally and things are happening. Ignore the demand letters from the creditors, they are superfluous right now.
On the car insurance, have you tried the different comparison websites? I was recently talking to an insurance broker and he said to always use the big three and compare across them. Martin MSE has some advice somewhere about getting lower premiums.
But, overall, just CALM DOWN

Hi Rochdale-Guy
I too am on a DMP, get paid on 15th of month but CCCS payment due on 1st of month.
My solution...
Opened a savings account linked to my basic bank account with Co-op. The savings account is purely for DMP, absolutely NOTHING else, I don't even know the PIN for the card !
15th - Get paid salary into Main Bank account, transfer DMP amount into linked savings account.
30th - transfer DMP money back into main bank account
1st - CCCS DD takes money for DMP
By doing it this way my DMP money is "ringfenced" and cannot be spent. I'm so used to doing it this way that it has become second-nature every month without fail.
Works a treat for me...:T
BTW my debt free date is 2040...yes, thats right 2040DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
28th October 2019 - £13,505 - 27% paid off.
Demolishing my House of Debt.. one brick at a time!!
Thinking of spending???..YNAB says "NO!!!!"0
