That's a good point. Best to use the registered name of the company you are suing, rather than their trading name. It used to be the case I believe that every detail had to be correct for the claim to be rightly served. For example, it had to be served at their registered address, which could be miles away and just an accommodation address, but nowadays their usual business or trading address will suffice. Also, regarding the company name, unless there is an element of doubt about their identity (e.g. there are more than one company with the same or similar-sounding name), you can use their usual trading name, though to avoid every element of ambiguity, find out their official, registered name. Money Claim online is very strict about having the correct postcode of the defendant so that the claim can be properly served by post.0

Hi All,
A quick note to let everyone know that we should be through our back log of claims within the next 7 days or so. Anyone who has submitted a claim recently should receive an email confirming receipt of their claim within 10 working days. This is a the time it is currently taking to upload received claims to our system.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the forum team directly via email or PM.

I've sent you PMs and emails, both have been ignored, so far.
I also left you a message in the long thread. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=4319439#post43194390 -

Looks like the wheel's come off the drinks trolley again, folks. :A
There's a very important posting, #416, on the old thread (page 21) in which The Mobile Outlet stated unequivocally that it would now accept copy invoices instead of originals. Fortunately, now that that thread's been locked, it cannot be "edited".

It would be extremely helpful for everybody, though, if this assurance could be given again by The Mobile Outlet, here, on the first page of this new thread, where people can find it easily.
Some of us need our originals for accounting and tax purposes (and aren't impressed by the fact that our originals have not been returned by The Mobile Outlet despite the inclusion, with the claim, of a stamped S.A.E.)

So, in my first claim (12 month contract), which I have to send off ASAP, what should I send?
a) Original Dispatch Note (photocopy this, and keep it)
b) T&C's (photocopy this, and keep this)
c) Letter, saying what the thing is for (save a copy)
d) First 4 bills (photocopy and save them)
Do I need to send ALL the pages of the bills or only the 1st page? I tried to phone them today, but no reply.0 -

Somewhere in the old thread (please don't ask me to trawl through the 40 pages of it, even assisted by the Search engine!) I seem to remember that TMO posted that only the first sheet was necessary.
But I felt it was best to send in the entire invoices - since my own Terms & Conditions state specifically that the original invoices must be submitted - and because they also said the TMO would return them if one included an SAE (which they haven't, depite the fact that the SAE that I sent to them was stamped, as well).
I posted the stuff about copies being acceptable in case it would be of any help to those who, for one reason or another, do not have original invoices and were worried about their claim.
By the way, be sure to use Royal Mail Special Delivery (not Recorded Delivery) to send in your claim and, additionally, take out the Consequential Loss Insurance. Your cashback claim is worth several hundred pounds to you. Although Special Delivery covers you for the value of the contents of the package up to £500, unless you have Consequential Loss Insurance the sum you would receive if you had to claim for it would be less than £1 - namely, the value of twenty sheets of A4 paper and an envelope.

Hi Alpha,
You are not required to send the itemised pages of your bill. The top page of your bill will suffice.

Thanks. I will probably still send the rest to get some peace of mind
Special Delivery with the Consequential Insurance will come to about £6.50.0 -

Personally, what I do is send them recorded and track them. I've scanned copies which I'd send copies of if the first lot didn't arrive (so far I've never needed to).
There is a heck of a difference between £1 and £6.50 if you've got five lots to send.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
