Do the Co-op read this thread? See post number 50 above.
I passed my local this morning. They have a large poster in the window advertising 4pts milk at £1.25! They are now only 25% dearer than the Iceland right next door instead of 60%.
Another MSE result! (Well, kind of...)
you couldnt make this stuff up could you
or make it into a book
nobody would believe it

Today - Saturday morning 11:30am - a busy time for grocery shopping? I would have thought so but then I am just a shopper and have no retail experience or training.
My local store again has just one till open - that's at the cigarette kiosk. There is a queue of people waiting to pay. At least today. I didn't waste any time shopping - just turned on my heels and left.
Apart from their offers (indeed, even with some of the offers), they are the dearest store in town - we don't have a Fortnum's or a Harrod's - and they can't be bothered to staff the place adequately.
Will they ever learn?0 -
Just been to my local Co-op. Very busy, 2 checkouts open, bit of a queue but nothing to panic about. I only went for some fresh French bread but came out with 2 9 roll packs of Andrex for £7.50 and a pack of Walkers crisps (22 packets) for £3.00 !0

You're going to need all that Andrex.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
Lou Reed The Last Shot0 -
went in my coop last night for a bottle of bells
one till open people 10 deep waiting to pay
walked out
went to the specialist down the street
perfect quick service and only £13.49

You're going to need all that Andrex.
Lol !
I have a 25 year old son who thinks my house is his local pop in shop. If he runs out of anything, he knows i usually have it in stock, and it's free ! He shares a flat with a mate, don't think they've bought toilet rolls since they moved in 2 years ago. Or pizza, or bread, or beer, or ............:)0 -

How do you know the poster isn't American? If so, quite an understandable faux pas.
In any case, what's the big deal?0 -
The Co-Op is a joke for prices and I also find Tesco, and especially Tesco Metro/Express, to be almost as bad.
I detest having to use them if I run out of milk or something. Tin of Whiskas 79p, what a laugh.0 -
Whoops, well that was an appropriate error to make for this thread, wasn't it? I'm old-fashioned, in that my handwriting is excellent, but my typing skills leave a lot ot be desired!
Meant to say twenty quid, NOT £20m!!! lol0 -
We guessed!0
