Vent - My local Co-op.....
Comments
-
The Co-Op nearest to where I live is also dire.
It must be the worst stocked "convenience" store I've ever been in.
They have a massive range of wine beer and spirits, but if you want milk, bread or fresh vegetables and you get there after about 1pm, forget it.
The only people it seems to be popular with are the local scumbags as it's been raided twice in the past couple of months.0 -
I'm sure that if you looked at a selection of my past posts you'd find the odd typo - or worse.

I rarely make posts about people's grammar, spelling, or punctuation but when you see the same thing repeated over and over and over again it eventually gets annoying.
You have to ask yourself: Do people really want to keep looking stupid by repeatedly posting nonsense such as 'ect'?
If I kept making a stupid mistake I'd really appreciate someone pointing it out to me because I wouldn't want to portray myself as illiterate.
If someone posted that the capital of France was Lyons, no one would bat an eyelid if someone pointed out that they were wrong. So why is that the internet seems to be patrolled by 'anti-grammar' Nazis who cannot let a simple correction lie without making a fuss about it?
Maybe - but there's a way to and not to do it. Enlarging in red seems a little abrupt and unnecessary.
Moving on though, you mean to tell me Lyons isn't the capital of France?

Well, I failed miserably there, then.Maybe - but there's a way to and not to do it. Enlarging in red seems a little abrupt and unnecessary.
I was trying to make it a bit jokey!
(One of the problems with pointing out these errors is that some people seem to assume that you're doing it to show everyone that you're in some way 'better' or 'smarter' than someone else. In fact it's nothing more than happening to be aware of something that someone else apparently isn't.)Moving on though, you mean to tell me Lyons isn't the capital of France?
Nah, Marseilles, I think. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

If you're going to point out people's errors you should at least do it properly. Its not etc its etc. To be gramatically correct you need the '.'This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

....and where is the Lyons of which you speak...?
Is it not Lyon?
(and yes, I know it's not the capital, that's Bordeaux

However - on topic, since we moved our horses to the next village, we go the Co-op (almost) every evening on the way home. Their reduced bakery goods have got a lot to answer for!
But wrt other items, even when reduced they are more expensive than anywhere else.
There is a cross-section of personalities amongst the staff - really chatty to sullen and quite unfriendly - they know who we are and I smile at them and get nothing back.
Ah well, takes all sorts I guess.0 -
Curries red Cola - that takes me back. I didn't know they were still in business.scotsman4th wrote: »My local co-ops stopped selling Curries Red Cola.

Mine have had things on so-called "half price" that are still dearer than the Iceland next door.marywooyeah wrote: »there used to be a big co-op by us staffed by miserable old hags and was overpriced too - even when reduced the stuff was the same price as other shops!0 -

For a moment there, it looked like it was going to be yet another of those threads where it all kicked off.0
