Hi all
I haven't been able to visit the daily thread for months, as we had so many problems, but everything is going a lot better, we held on to our house by the skin of our teeth & hopefully we will manage to stay afloat from now on.
To make ends meet, on top of my usual job, I'm still knitting & selling scarves, I sold 50 in the weeks up to Christmas, I have a new lodger who is possibly staying till June/July, I'm still working on 'the phone' & I've just started an extra job at the place I work, which is an extra 10 hours a week at a higher hourly rate than I get for my other job. So fingers crossed, things are looking up for us.
Hope eveyone here has a great day & hugs to all who need one.
Hester

Morning All:hello:
Double shift for me at work today. At least it's overtime I guess!! Can't wait till tomorrow as I have a day off:j and I'm going out in the evening with my friend to cheer us both up.
Still feeling pretty down, but keeping a diary does help a bit. As you can see from my signature, the weight loss is going well - another weigh in session later on, so hopefully a few more pounds shifted
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning all,
Slept in this morning but as my boss isn't in the office today I don't think anyone will notice if I am 5 or 10 minutes late.
Hester wow! You really have got earning an income down to a fine art. Its not surprising that you are staying afloat when you are so dedicated to keep things that way. You now have me wondering how I could be making some extra money.
Will try to get ahead of myself today with some of the weekend jobs that need doing. DS and DD are back to school on Monday and I don't want to spend all weekend doing housework. I would much prefer to have at least one day where we can jsut do whatever we feel.
Have a fantastic Friday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all
As you can seen I have saved my 5000th post till this morning
Good luck to N9eavs OH
Welcome back Hardup Hester
And huge hugs to Scuzz
Still feeling very ropey but I have to do the school run and take my parents shopping so I'm about to drug myself up so I can get on with the day.
I'm feeling very bitter and twisted towards DH at the moment. I take one day off sick in bed and the whole house looks like a bomb has hit it. He unloaded the dishwasher but never bothered loading it again and hasn't even thought about making DD's sandwiches for this morning so I have to do that to. I wouldn't moan if he was your typical male but I know he isn't! He always used to help out but over the last few years the helpful man I married seems to have disappeared into the ether
Kaz you will be pleased to know that all this is making me more determined than ever to take your advice. I am going in after the half term to find out what college courses are available to me.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning everyone
Hardup Hester - Welcome back. Glad that things have improved for you.
Well we had parents evening last night. Not good. We have to go back to school today again for another meeting with the teacher to discuss the problem areas in more depth.
Never managed to get bathroom or kitchen cleaned yesterday so will do that today.
Everywhere else just needs straightened up and hoovered.
Bye for now

Welcome back Hardup Hester!!!!
I've only been thinking about you this last couple of weeks and wondering how you were doing. When you last posted everything seemed so desperate. Glad things are improving:D Mind you with all those jobs they'd want to!
Hope you'll be posting more often now.

(((HUGS))) I watched a great programme on revenge the other day if you need any ideas...... and I can provide the dog that provides the necessary ingredients for the pie  (don't worry, the dog stays safe - he's purely for 'production' of the ingredients
:rotfl: )
Glad it's making you determined to look at a college course, I think it'll do you the world of good to have something just for you.
Right, kids are ready and need their 'chauffeur'.
Congrats on your 5k post too,

Morning all.
good luck N9EAV's OH
Good to hear your progress Hester.
Congrats on the 5000th Moggins
Hugs to Scuzz.
I think I've just found a farm shop/box scheme really close to me. So I need to investigate. Unfortunately it'll have to wait cos we're away all weekend and then its work etc next week (this work lark really eats into my free time. Pshaw!)
Bit fed up this week. I've been working towards saying to DH that we could manage on just his wage so could I become a SAHM please please please. But then I thought about it long term, and really I need to save for things like University for the kids (if they want to go) and also I wouldn't have a pension. Good grief. They've got me havent they?
Oh well. Suppose I should just accept the fact that I'm going to be working. Really I should be glad I have the work to go to.
Sorry for the moan.
House tidy. Waiting for WM to finish then I'm off to W***. Need to pack tonight.
DS called gran'ma at 7:00 this morning - can't imagine she was too impressed at getting a call from a 4yo at that time of the morning. He was just checking she was expecting him tomorrow!
