Morning everyone,
A dull damp morning here in Lancashire too this morning. I have the day off today as it's half term here and I wanted to spend at least a day with DS during the hols. He was with Grandma on Mon/Tues and with my neighbour Wed/Thurs. He had a sleepover last night with two of his pals so there are three smelly boys in his bedroom. I think I'll leave them a while. They are playing on various electronic gadgets but they are quiet and haven't started wrestling yet so they can stay.
I have a few things to sort out today. A trip to the bank to pay in some money, a couple of phone calls and a bit of cross-stitch if I'm lucky. I made a couple of cards this week, one for OH (Valentine's day). I had to tell him I made it too. Well, I didn't want him to think I had bought it when I made such an effort! I made another one last night for Mother's Day (see, I can plan ahead when I really try!). My sister gave me a couple of copies of Stitch & Craft magazine and there are small kits with them. She doesn't like paper craft, more of a dyed-in-the-wool stitcher.
Making chilli for tea as OH is home tonight. I also have a couple of letters to write, one to my car insurance company who have charged me £15.75 each time I make a change to my policy (I changed my car recently, then noticed I had put down that I was travelling 11,000 miles a year, when my new job means it will be more like 18,000) so they have charged me an extra £31.50 for the two changes, as well as the relevant policy increases that go along with each change. I'll see if a polite letter will cause them to refund the charges.
Right, boys are up so I'd better get going. We are expecting a visit from B-I-L shortly too so must get on...

Not much to pst today I feel a little down in the dumps as I have to take my nephews to the airport later today so they can fly back home to Oz and I don't know when I will see them again:o
This weekend I will be cleaning and perhaps painting the bedroom if I can make up my mind what color is best:rolleyes:
Have a good day all and take care x0 -
Morning all!
Have just stuffed my face with gallons of water and some chocolate brioche and am getting ready to face the day.... I was awake at 8:30am but thought I'd play some Sims2 on my DS and make the most of my last 'proper' day of the half term!
OH has the long weekend off this week, so hopefully tomorrow will come with a nice lay in and I'll cook pancakes and bacon for breakfast!
Should be able to get a few HW bits done today and tomorrow, little by little I'll get there!
Plans for the day....
*Take pup to vets for his after op check up
*More work on living room
*Perhaps a letter or two
Am off to the British Museum with the Guides on Sunday, have to be at the church hall by 8am.... eek! Will def have to set my coffee maker for when I wake up... will need all the caffeine I can take!
Need to go packed lunch shopping either today or tomorrow. Think it will be more like tomorrow though. Won't need too much I don't think... well I hope anyway!! Bought a new muffin tin on Tuesday so will make chocolate muffins for my lunches.... am making banana ones today, yummy.
Hugs to everyone who needs and wants them!!

Morning all,
Not such a good day today as its finally the funeral of my friends DH (only 37!!!). So this will be a short one.
Raining, which I suppose is just how it would be, kids don't want to come so mum has had them for the day, and to top it all I've got to cheer myself back up because we have a family members 18th party to go to tonight! (must go though as life goes on and we will have a good time - I hope!)
Anyway, guys will pop off now, hope everyone has a good Friday and a lovely weekend, I am sure I will feel better when this is all over! Take care BBxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -

Doing a bit of housework in case of viewings this weekend - vacuuming and polishing.
Feel pretty good, although I feel a bit throaty, my son has got a cold so probably got it too.
OH seems happier since being on his CPAP machine, sleeping much better.

Good morning everyone

Productive day after all here yesterday, managed to be very strict about my internet time and managed to get the house looking spanking :rotfl: I cleaned bathroom and kitchen, and tidied the mess from all the other rooms, and also aired the place and got 2 loads of washing done! Then OH's Valentines Day present arrived (a day late
) which was a bit of a bargain from Boots - it's a Hugo Boss in Motion gift set (aftershave and stick deodorant) The Boss deo is the only stuff he'll use and at £16 a pop its expensive... But this set was £23 reduced from £36 (£49 if you buy products separately) and came in a lovely gift box which I left on the bed surrounded by a few (fake) rose petals (he bought a big tub of them for our first V-Day 3 years ago) for when he got in from work as I was working until 9...
Similar plan for today: I have a few bits of uni work to do, will flick round the flat, and then work until 9 tonight. Busy weekend planned, tomorrow I'm at work from 8-12.30 and then a friend and I are off to Barnsley to get our hair cut... not sure what style I want - something funky but I want to keep the length as it's halfway down my back and has taken ages to grow!!! Then as well as OH, his dad and me at the Ice Hockey, we're taking along 5 others who have never been before so fingers crossed it's a good game and we win!!!
:grouphug: to Moggins, Ticklemouse, Bargain Babe and anyone else who feels like they want one
And belated congratulations to Nana Lelc
Have a fantastic friday xxx0 -
Hi all,
Hester - good to see you back, I too have been wondering about you on and off since your last posts.
Moggins - I know how you feel, DH is usually good around the house but for some reason when I'm ill he seems to think that because I'm not doing any housework then he doesn't need to either:mad: .
DD is coming home tonight for the weekend:j . It's an early birthday celebration for her because I'm away next Friday on the day at a study weekend in Cheltenham. She rang this morning to tell me about her fabulous afternoon and evening travelling between 3 London Fashion Weeks Shows on a double decker sponsored by Moet (she works for them). She was thrilled because a woman asked if she's modelled in one of the shows and when dd said no she said that her make up was fabulous. Later she found out that the woman was the Vice President of Mac cosmetics and was thrilled by the compliment:D .
Looking forward to a weekend at home pottering about doing housework after the last few hectic weeks. Hopefully will have time to post as well.
