    Helllooooo everyone! :hello:

Out at 7 this morning for a short survey on the Underground. Back home at about 10:15, after doing some shopping. Iceland here are selling 4pts milk for £1 and Quorn mince for £2, so I got that, and then I needed some household stuff so went to Netto. Saved quite a bit comparing to the wasteful spending I used to indulge in before I turned OS! :p

Will be going out in a while for another survey which will take me until this evening, but hey, I have to earn my keep.

Last night I cooked one of the cheapest and healthiest meals I could think of, albeit very basic and plain: three small potatoes and a smallish head of broccoli boiled together, then dressed with some extra virgin olive oil and Lo Salt. To make up the protein component I drank a large glass of skimmed milk. This meal had almost everything: Vitamin A and E from the dark broccoli, Vitamin C from the potatoes and especially the broccoli, protein from all of them but especially the milk, Vitamin B from all of them, Calcium from the milk and broccoli, and the other minerals well supplied by all the components.

Tonight I shall cook wholemeal pasta with a tomato and quorn sauce, and a generous sprinkling of parmesan. Then fruit. OS is far from boring! :D

Have a good day everyone! :j

Just a quick note to say for those of you thinking of attending college next September it's not too early to enquire....
I've just called the college to find out about the course I'd like to do and apparently the interviewing will start after half term  .
I've been spured into action on realising that if DS1 does take a year out after 6th form, before uni, next September will be my last year with him at home    I have to confess this thought terrifies me - even a page full of scary faces wouldn't do it justice!

I've had a lovely morning. All week I've been feeling really lethargic and blue, so today I curled up on the sofa in front of the tv with heating turned up. Had a lovely snooze and boy do I feel better.
Just to top it read a few posts on here that made me chuckle (esp math and bargainrzl). Am now going to make that choccie cake and curl back up on the sofa. Boys are home for the week next week so I'm going to make the most of a bit of peace and quiet while I can :D
    Love to all,
    Kaz x

PS - I do wish this site would stop giving me error messages...... I keep having mini heart attacks when I post and it says there's been an error.... ****note to self, copy and paste before posting just in case****
    January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.

    Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.
  • Hi
Thanks for the warm welcome back, I'm still working on the phones for a couple of hours a day, but hubby is now getting used to it & no longer has to leave the room because of his giggles. I'm permenantly tired with a K as I'm working a 50 hour week, but it's worth it. Hubby is being really helpful and doing as much as he can around the house & i just top up on the bits he's missed. This week I'm feeding my neighbours cats while they are on holiday, which isn't as simple as it sounds as they have a very complicated routine, still it's not for much longer.

LOL Nels. I do take my supplements...;) Although there's nothing like basking in the sun, I agree.

Another very healthy meal component I heartily recommend is tofu: being made with from soy it has all the benefits of this bean, especially a good quantity of natural oestrogens which are a godsend for women (particularly those going through the menopause), and containts very useful calcium levels, not to mention the good quality protein. One needn't be a vegetarian to enjoy the benefits of vegetarian's mainstay foods. :)

  • Hi everyone.
It is very quiet here as DH as taken both DDs to MILs for the afternoon and I'm supposed to be doing some work for school. I will make a start in a minute, I'm just putting it off.The weather here is wet and miserable so I'm glad I've got to stay in.
We had a lovely takeaway curry last night, in fact we only managed to eat half of it so guess what we're having for tea tonight?
Anyway got to go and I'm going to ban myself from the computer for the next 3 hours!
    Have a good day.

Bargain Rzl Loved your joke, might try it one day!

    Hey all,

I'm having a bit of a fitful day today as I can't seem to get motivated on any one task! I don't have my sister, don't need to visit anyone or do any shopping but just seem to keep wandering from room to room doing little jobs.

I've put the SC on, done two loads of washing, changed my bedding and vacuumed high traffic areas, logged on and off the computer twice and am back on again just reading random threads!

I wanted to go to the allotment but it's raining here too so another day with no digging done!

I'm working tomorrow in my friends shop and then it's back to school on Monday and the holiday has disappeared! Argh!

Better go try organise myself so I don't feel as though I've wasted the day......

See you all later no doubt!! :rotfl:
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...
