Urgh, feeling really low today, probably due to the foggy dampness of the weather.
Payday tomorrow *yay* although in reality it doesn't really mean we can splurge. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Hi BR. Hope your mood lifts. Summat about Autumn that on foggy grey days you can easily be dragged down! Sending big hugs.
We used to do a monthly shop but would end up eating sugar sandwiches by the end of the month. Lol. Now i budget for the month and transfer food money into a savings account. On tuesd's i transfer 70 quid across n do the food shop for the week. I use resourceful cook.com for meal plan ideas cos they show you a rough budget of costs. I feed a family of 4 on that and i always budget for a five week month cos then when its a four week month we can have a treat or keep money in savings account to build up for emergencies.
Hope that helps, sorry went off on one. Lol. L2B.xLBM 2008 [STRIKE]£45,091.23[/STRIKE] eek: now £7889:T Debt free date 18/07/20180 -
That does help, thank you.
I had planned, last month, to divide the remaining money up into the remaining weeks, but I just never got round to it (useless)
So this month, we're going shopping today and it'll be for a week's food (plus little annoying extra 'one offs' that we've run out of) and then I plan to split up the rest of the cash and budget for the rest of the month. Hopefully we will avoid having to eat the scrapings from the bottom of the freezer at the end of the month (exaggeration...) :rotfl:
We also have Mr BR's bike repair to pay for £32 and the cats need their annual boosters this morning too although, I think, we've managed to budget for that, we'll see.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

So today we got a letter from the DCA that the MBNA have sold our debt on to.
They just said that we had to pay them now please, so I rang CCCS and gave them the details. I think the guy I spoke to was new, he sounded unsure (in a 'new' way but still professional) but has said that the account is updated and that they'll pay the DCA direct at our next payment on the 10th. Here's hoping. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I was told that without sounding daft if your debt gets sold on then its unlikely to have interest and added charges added on, one of mine got transferred to a DCA, - CCCS just paid them instead of the original account.
Hope your ok, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Yes, the CCCS have told me in the past that DCAs are easier for them to deal with, and as you say are more likely not to add interest or anything.
We're ok, but the emotions involved in the debt being with a DCA are interesting, as you're so used to thinking DCA = bailiffs. I know it's not, but it's difficult to shake it off.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

So...today we had two letters from Cabot DCA telling us that 'further to the correspondence from the Yorkshire Bank' they now were taking over the two accounts.
Except, we'd had no communication at all from the YB. Bit of a shock...
I rang CCCS to inform them...oh, the YB had told them and not us *sigh*Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I think I need to speak to CCCS to see if they have received any reply to the offer letters as the payments have appeared in the accounts that I still have access to online!0
