:rotfl: yes, essentially.
The reasons are basically because a) it came up recently and he'd asked me if, had he not asked me, whether I would have asked him this year. I'd said perhaps but that he wouldn't wear a ring, and he said yes he would.. Also that, when we got engaged, money was tight but we were 'rich' in comparison as we still had credit cards and stuff. Now he will sometimes ask me why I'm still with him as he has nothing to offer me as we have no money. This is a way of making him sure that *I* want *him*, you know?
Now, he had the advantage when he asked me as were already going out for a birthday meal for me and he did it there. However, I have no money to be taking him out for a meal, plus he'd know something was up, so the plan (such as it is) is to suggest we go for a walk (which we often do) but I'll drive. I'll take him one of 'our' spots, and do it there. Won;t be down on one knee though, unfortunately as I'm too big for that atm.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

So, last night we had to take Mr BR's bike (push bike, not motor) into Halfords as it's poorly. Problem it's £42 worth of poorly and we've only got £90 in the sundries pot for the month. *sigh* It's going to be another tight month I think - wanted to go and see my Mum for Mothering Sunday but now we might just not have the petrol availableOur LBM: Dec 2011. So, today's the day and I'm really nervous now for some reason. I suppose I'm worried about whether it's the right thing to do, whether he'll like the ring, whether he'll appreciate the gesture - all of that stuff. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Thanks!
I don't know why I'm so nervous, after all, it was him who asked me originally! Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

How did it go? You can't leave us all sitting here wondering...
So excited for you.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Well, I took him to a local spot near to a bridge which, when it's dark, has lots of lights to it looked very pretty. We had a chat (cos of course he had no idea what was coming) and then I told him how I felt about him, and brought the ring box from my pocket and presented him with the ring. He was really over the moon, really liked my choice of ring - but it's too small.
I suspected it might be but was hoping against hope.
So, Saturday we'll be popping back into the shop to sort out a bigger one (they'll have to order it unless they've had a helpful delivery) so it'll be 2 or 3 weeks before he'll actually be able to wear it.
It's very sweet though cos he keeps going back to the ring box and having another look at "his ring"
Oh, and he said yes! :rotfl:Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

We are trying to make sure that we still do 'us' stuff - and to be honest I think he needed(needs) the reassurance that, although I said yes to him last year and wear his ring, that I do actually want to stay..I think sometimes he thinks I want to leave. And I do, the situation, but not him, you know?
I think he's finding life tough at work atm and with the lack of money too and the worry of that, it's not easy for either of us.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
