I am currently doing an MA in english, yours sounds really fascinating, thats a PROPER topic. I am quite jealous =) The taught part of my MA is really biased towards post-colonial studies, and I feel that recently that that topic has been done to death, but I cant think of anything new and exciting to come up with. Still got a little while ;)

I couldn't take to post-colonial at all...I only did one module and that was enough for me!

Does your dissertation have to be tailored to the taught studies, or can you pick your own topic?

If you decide to go down the feminist critical theory or Renaissance route, then give me a shout. ;)

I can pick my own, but the taught part of the master is supposed to give some inspiration! I think I will just paint my nails a bit more and panic nearer the time lol!

That's the plan that I've been living by. ;)

If I get this chapter finished today - just another 1200 words  - I've promised myself that I will sort out my toenails.

    As if....:rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

I am just teetering on the verge of nail obsessed but not gone over to what my OH calls the 'darkside'

Major reconstructive work yesterday and I've had to have tips on the 3 nails I broke :(

The gothic french polish didn't quite work out as I planned either! The base colour is CND Inkwell which is a lovely glossy blue black. Put a matt top coat on it ( also by Creative....) and it turns a steel grey :o. The idea was a matt nail with a glossy tip.

The tip is glossy all right but the effect is lost in the picture, it just looks weird and I don't like the grey colour at all. Even adding a crystal or two hasn't really cheered it up.

If I still hate it tomorrow I'll take it off or add a glitter top coat over it.

So what do you all think?

Official stockists are Lena White, usually good deals from QVC aswell. Shop-wise you can buy it from Sally's Hair and Beauty but usually full price.
  • Amanita...glitter top coat

Tygermoth...fragrancedirect.co.uk have a decent range of OPI at £6.50.

Here's a pic of my nails for the week. I had planned to do a full water marble today but I've not had time so I just did one accent nail. The orange is 2True no 25 and the blue on the little finger is OPI Blue My Mind.

Looks great - really must try marbling myself.
  • Thanks starrystarry for tip to remove polish from carpet . Have let it dry and will have a good go at it tomorrow . DH took the news quite calmly and said he knew I wanted a new carpet anyway ! Don't really want it yet tho'. Still pleased with my nails and next time will marble over a washable floor .
