Forgot to say - may seem a bit drastic, but wear gloves for absolutely everything! Outdoors to protect from cold and knocks, cotton manicure gloves for household chores and rubber/vinyl gloves when using detergents etc, at worst I even wear gloves for hair washing, cheap and cheerful wear and throw away from £1 shops. Needless to say, if I did all the above more often I would have lovely nails all the time (illness excepted). Very much a case of do as I say and not do as I do. LOL
Also a lot of people swear by the hair skin and nails supplements, if not too expensive for you, might be worth adding in to your daily routine. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Morning ladies.
Today i'm wearing OPI Linkin Park after Dark; and as i smuged a couple of fingers i have NI Baker Street dots on my ring finger and the same in strips on my thumbs.
Quick Q - what remover does every one use / recomend. I normally use OPI acentone free (the green one) and if i wearing glitters i have a cheap acetone one.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -

I could never say I'm not buying lacquer and stick to it!Morning ladies.

I use Cutex Ultra Cleansing remover. Is very effective.
I had a bottle of Lincon Park once but gave it away because at the time I didn't like cream lacquers. Am loving Vampsterdam at the mo which is a shimmery purple.
Have repainted my toe nails - they were desperate! - and am now wearing Sephora by OPI Mermaid to Order. To me it looks very similar to OPI Catch me in your Net although the Mermaid one is more teal in colour. Think I'll jazz it up with Rainbow Connection on top.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I like the Pink OPI one, not tried the green, like you Acetone for the glittery stuff, but about 6 months ago I bought a whole litre of Zoya Remove, it is great, half a pad will remove about 4 nails of dark polish. In my defence, I live in the sticks, 52 miles round trip + parking fee to a major town with any choice for anything cosmetic, just a small Mr B here, with very little to choose from. Cannot remember which of the Cutex was my go to before. On Sunday get to go the "big town" but will have OH with me! Scheduled shops include Lakeland, M&S, QVC Outlet, small Dept Store and anything else I can get away with. Getting a short holiday in Chester soon, lovely posh shops, but probably afford only to look in the windows!
Edit: sorry think it was Amyb who posed the question! The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I was inspired to try marbling this aft . Had no problems with polish spreading in the water etc + did one hand ok. Had a visitor then went back to do other hand , shook the purple polish but the cap was undone . Now I have polish on bedroom carpet . Anyone know a way to remove this ? The marbling is ok for a first attempt tho' ! Could be a most expensive experiment !0

Oops!
I spilt a whole bottle of Nails Inc Jermyn Street on my bedroom carpet last year. A minor moment of panic followed, then I remembered I had a spare bottle of Jermyn Street. The polish came out of the carpet with a combination of hairspray and nail varnish remover. Sounds far fetched but it really works. Hairspray is a solvent so it softens the nail varnish.
Get an old towel or something and a bowl of warm soapy water. Wet a small patch of the carpet with the soapy water and some nail varnish remover, then spray it liberally with the hairspray and start dabbing. Takes quite a while but it came out of my carpet without a trace.0 -

Is that the QVC Outlet in Warrington? We drove out to that one once and was very underwhelmed by it. Looked like a pound shop! I remember it was full of CDs and Kelly Hoppen bedding when we went.
Have a lovely time in Chester - I love visiting there. If you are looking for something to do I'd recommend the Diwa Experience and Chester Zoo. Haven't visited the zoo for years but we did used to visit annually when Emma was smaller.
Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village is also near the zoo. Some lovely shops there.
Have a great time. x
