I had gel nails for a few months and then finally managed to have them taken off. My lovely strong nails are now thin and weak so I've been using Opi Nail Envy but it doesn't seem to be doing a lot. I'm keeping them short (no choice) and filing with a glass file.
What can I do?
I get married in 4 months and I want my lovely nails back!I have realised I will never play the Dane!
Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!!0 -
I'm using Nail Envy but I'm not convinced by it. I have to wash my hands so much at work though that I doubt anything can replace the natural goodness I wash away.
I got two Nails Inc. Magnetic polishes this week, and tried one today. I'm not overly impressed with the finish. I'm not sure whether I'm holding the magnet over for too long, or not long enough. Any words of wisdom?

I would say you need to hold it closer. It has to be within a gnats !!!! to get the best effect. Also really still.0

Lots of conditioning oil (avoplex/solar oil etc) and keep going - they will get better eventually.. Gels removed properly arent supposed to cause damage to nails but I have wrecked my own pinging them off before now.
If your nails are dry the moisture will help tremendously - you could even try a hot oil treatment. If you have lost layers of the nail they will need to grow out.As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again0 -
Yay!
Have cracked it!
I tried the boiled water and it was just the same outcome, so I added a few drops nail polish remover and it worked like a dream.
I used Nails Inc Basil Street, Ganton Street and Colville Mews and splodged vaseline around my nails instead of tape.
Here's a couple of photos of the outcome:

Well done! Never would have thought of putting nail varnish remover in the water, I'll try that next time I do a marble.0 -

I got the best results by holding it over the magnet as soon as I'd painted the nail. If I allowed it to dry for even the time taken to paint a second nail it didn't work nearly as well.0
