I love shellac for something like a holiday, if I know I will be away from my manicure
So christmas, at mums then visiting friends for pretty much the full two weeks of the school hols, too busy with the kids etc to worry about nails but wanting htem to look nice. I had a glittery red gel nail done just before and it lasted until the 3rd of Jan0 -
I think I'll will seriously consider it for my fortnight off work in the summer. I wish I didn't have to have clean, short, unpainted nails for work.
This is tonight efforts. Ignore the mess, I'm going to tidy up. I just wanted to put the lacquer on thick enough to work.0 -

Bah just had to TA a nails inc polish, it was a diet coke freebie one, but the top had snapped off??? Never seen that happen, the glass had snapped within the top and hence the nail polish had all dried out.
Still toe nails now painted in Leighton denny vamp, and I used my Amazon Vouchers to get the muppets OPI collection.0 -

Saw it online yesterday but didn't want to pay postage . It looks ,well, just as if it's sand , very unusual and I read it has a smooth finish . Lovely colours too.
I get it from Ellisons. It's distributed over here by Sweet Sqaured but it's only sold to those with a nail qualification.Started DMP Oct 2011 - £7082Feb 2012 - £6562July 2012 - £6112Oct 2012 - £57810 -
I've had shellac one twice and both times it chipped within 3-4days.
I think because my nails are so thin when they bend and flex the shellac sorta peels off and then chips.
Someone at work had it doen tho and it lasted until it massively grew out.
I had rockstar toes done and it looke fab from a distance but the technician was pants and it wasn't applied properly so looked rubbish close up.
It does massively depend on the person doing your nails. Also there are a LOT of salons offering 'Shellac' but not using the whole system/incorrect lamp/wrong top or base coat etc etc and it's extremely annoying as it gives the product a bad name.
The longest I had Shellac on was 2 weeks and 4 days, I only reapplied due to regrowth but also had on toes about 4 weeks with horrendous growth but was still on perfect.
Oh and of course Shellac needs Solar oil applied once a day minimumStarted DMP Oct 2011 - £7082Feb 2012 - £6562July 2012 - £6112Oct 2012 - £57810 -
