OH watched football, so I retreated to bedroom to play with my nailpolish, result is thumbs, pinkies and index fingers are My Private Jet, ring fingers DS Shimmer and index fingers are Simply Smash-ing! (all OPI), couldn't get the lid off DS Elegance, or they would all have been Holo's. Looks a bit daft, but good enough for gardening, and will take it off later.

I should perhaps put this on the swaps page, but if anyone has, or is likely to have in the next few weeks an empty OPI, Seche Vite or China Glaze bottle, could they contact me? I have some dexterity problems due to arthritis:eek: and simply don't get on with Nails Inc and a couple of Older Barry M polish bottles, in my clear out to move I threw away Nail Envy and Seche Vite bottles, but could use them now, not to transfer the polish, but just the brushes. I love some of the BM colours, but have hesitated to buy them.

  • I'm nearly out of SV, when I get a new bottle I'll send mine on if you like? Annoyingly I just chucked a few old nail envy bottles away!!

I've got some rolls of nail foil, you need to use specific glue with that, tacky polish doesn't work. Hopefully this stuff will be different.

I have some foil adhesive so I'll play around. If it doesn't work, I'll give it to my nieces and nephews to play with. Win-win ;)

    thank you!!!

I didn't do my nails before I went out. I decided I would probably mess it up being on a timescale and the new colour I wanted to try didn't go with my outfit, so I just did the basecoat and am having a go with the colour now I'm home. So far so good, I'm going slowly and leaving the gap as suggested.... one more coat to do then the top coat!!

thank you for the advice, it's just what I was looking for.

You're welcome! Let me know how it goes :)

So, my attempt with just a basic colour tonight was my best yet, thanks to advice here and a few youtube videos. However, I have more questions...

(not brilliant but better than my usual effort, cuticles are a 'work in progress'!)

Why do I get what I presume are tiny air bubbles? It all looked fine when I first did it, but about an hour those tiny bumps have appeared. This has happened before too. Actually it happens a lot. What am I doing wrong?

That's brilliant! :j The bumps could be air bubbles - try not to shake your polish, just roll it between your hands for a minute to mix it :)
