I am experiencing the same thing too with my laptop ( currently using phone to online).. Excellent signal strength but no Internet access..
I tried the methods listed here, but they doesn't seem to work.. Is there anything else I can do..?0 -
The excellent signal strength is for the connection between your laptop and the router, not to the internet.
To start resolving this issue, please post details of your setup...
PC Make and Model
Operating System including Service Packs
Router Make and Model
Internet Service Provider
IP address of wireless connection
Any other devices connected to router wirelessly that have internet access?
If you can connect your laptop by ethernet cable, or have another computer you can download to, install Speccy from the link below, then run it. Click on Network then copy and paste the top section (from "Network" to "Computer Name")

Here are some details:
PC Make and Model: Toshiba Satellite P745
Operating System including Service Packs: Windows 7 (What does service packs mean..?)
Router Make and Model: Zyxel P-600. [This was provided by my internet provider]
Internet Service Provider: TM net
IP address of wireless connection: Does this means IPv4 address..? That would be 192.168.1.39.
Any other devices connected to router wirelessly that have internet access? My housemates using the same wifi and my iphone as well.
I do not really understand technical terms very well, so please bear with me if I asks too many stupid questions..! Thanks..!

To find which service pack you're using, please click Start, then right click on Computer, click Properties. The info is under Windows Edition.
Have you ever been able to use the wireless connection on this laptop with the Zyxel P-600 router?
If so, when did it stop working and what has changed that might have caused it?
Put the cursor over the wireless icon in the system tray, it should tell you the name of the network it's connected to. Check that it's actually connecting to your network (not a neighbours). It will also say either 'Internet Access' or 'No Internet Access'
Go to the Network and Sharing Center (right click on the network icon near the clock). At the top is a diagram representing your connection. Is there a red X anywhere in the diagram (if so where)?
What is displayed in View your active networks?

My computer is currently running on windows 7 home premium, service pack 1.
I am been using the Internet service for close to 7 months, and it iwas working fine. It just recently showed some problems, but I don't remember doing anything that might cause the problems. >.< I tried some solutions stated previously in this topic, and they give me a reprieve: I was able to online for few hours, then I couldn't access Internet again. =(
I am connected to my home network, and there is no big x anyway around the network map. It also showed Internet access.
From 'view my active neyworks'
I am connecting to home network (a house is the image).
Access type: Internet
Home group: joined
Connections: wireless network connection
I am sorry I couldnt attached a screenshot, but I tried my best to copy what I saw.

OK you ought to have internet access. I suspect your issue may be with DNS settings.
Please click on the Start button and type CMD in the search box. CMD.exe (or CMD) will appear under Programs above the search box. Right click on this and click Run as administrator. A black command prompt window will open. Click inside this window, and then type the following lines one at a time, pressing the Enter key on your keyboard after each.
ipconfig /flushdns (note the single space before the /)
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset catalog
exit (this will close the command window)
Reboot laptop and test internet connection.How do I add a signature?0 -
Do you have an ethernet cable?

It would allow you to connect the laptop to the router (temporarily) to get internet access, thereby allowing you to download any utilities we suggest that would speed up the process of getting your wifi working again. How do I add a signature?0 -
I tried the command prompt settings. But it does not seem to help. I could load my homepage, but after 1 minutes, when I wanna access to other sites, either the server is not found or the connection was reset while it is loading..
I assume reboot means restart right..?
I do have a Ethernet cable. Never used it before, but there is one available..0 -

That's different to what you originally said!
Which web browser are you using?How do I add a signature?0 -
I could load my homepage after I follow the command prompt instructions. But just the very first page when I open my browser. After that no page was loading.
My primary browser was Firefox, but I have ie and chrome as well. But they showed the same results too..0
