I would give my opinion on this one amd for what its worth I agree that the child wont become confused as they grow up whether its nan nanny, nannie or whatever....

But what is now confusing me is the fact that the OP has gone through and deleted their post...leading me to believe thats its potentially a topic that they now wish to disassociate themselves from!

I may be missing something here, but surely if you're Nanny, your Mum is Great Nanny, problem solved!

Or, they can just go for Nanny XXXXX (surname) and Nanny XXXXX (other surname).

This is what my neices and nephew did when my Grandma was still alive. My Mum was Grandma Norris and my Grandma was Grandma Weybourne.

Seems like a very simple solution.

And no, it never did confuse them.

When I was a child, I had my maternal grandparents they were Nanny and Grandad, my Nanny's mother was Other Nanny and my paternal grandmother was Grandma.

When my kids came along, they were still Nanny, Grandad and Grandma (Other Nanny was long dead by then)

The kids call my parents Nanna and Grandad, and their paternal grandmother Grandma.

No confusion and everyone seemed happy.

Honestly, there is so much wrong with the world, and THIS is what you choose to get upset about??
Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

  • My son has 4, yes 4, grandma's.

I never read the original post but I guess it was about what you call grandparents....
  • I had 4 nanny's and 3 papa's. And that's what they were always called, no confusion for me. If someone wanted to know which Nanny/Papa, I would say Nanny X or Daddy's Nanny etc.
Arguing over this is silly tbh, you should be enjoying spending time together.

    Children adapt, end of.

OP I see you've removed all your posts, which is a petty as the whole 'dilema' was in the first place, but I'l have my say anyway.

My DD decided what she was going to call both her nannies, one is Red nanny because she had a red coat, the other is upstairs nanny because she lives in a flat.

Even if she hadn't both were content with being nanny.
