hi, was thinking about trying bare escentuals and thought i'd look on here about it first. i wish i hadn't now as i am not sure to go for one of the others. Also has anyone heard or tried a brand called young blood. apparently it was used on the tv prog. 10 years younger, have had a look throught most of the thread but haven't found anything. I dont think i will try this one as my daughter said it is quite "shiny" and i would prefer a matt.(she had a tester pack from a salon)
I think i will look around and maybe order samples first. I have never used a foundation or such before as i never liked the look or feel but as time goes on, a little help is now needed.
I love Elemental Beauty - I'm not a spring chicken.... it works for me and Nicola is very helpful. Give them a call, you don't have to order online.

I use BE and EB and prefer the healing foundation from EB (44 here)

Cant beat BE for the bare minerals - no other finishing/blotter works as well

I started off using Bare Escentuals, but far prefer Elemental Beauty now, especially since unlike Bare Escentuals it doesn't contain bismuth oxychloride which isn't at all natural . It's a by-product of metal refining and is what causes that shiny appearance that can often look more like an oil-slick than a healthy glow :D. Bismuth can also cause reactions including itching if you have slightly sensitive skin.

Good luck, I hope you find something that suits - with Elemental Beauty if you can't get the exact shade, they will customise it specifically to suit you. Can't say fairer than that ;).

I have just bought some mineral makeup. I normally wear cream blusher and highlighter/concealer under my eyes after I have applied my regular makeup. Can I still wear my cream blusher and concealer after I have applied mineral makeup....I am a bit confused!

    Many thanks:confused:

    I'm not sure.........

Can I suggest that you try it and see what happens? Perhaps at the weekend when not going anywhere??

We all use the same or similar products but find that we all differ in how we use them anyway!

  • I'm not sure about the concealer, but I use a Benefit Posytint (a liquid blusher) over the top of Lily Lolo mineral foundation with no problems, so I would think a cream one would work just as well.

I don't see why not, although you might have to give it a while after applying your foundation before using the other products (because the mineral foundation can give quite a powdery finish when first applied).

I have used cream under-eye concealer over the top of a mineral foundation and it is fine. Having said that, I prefer the mineral concealers from Elemental Beauty (which I normally apply before the foundation) - in fact the concealers are my favourite bit of the Elemental Beauty range, and I get on with them better than I get on with the foundation...

Sure you can - you just have to give your foundation a few minutes to warm and work so to speak. Mineral foundation goes on as a powder and after a few minutes looks like a liquid foundation - thats when you will need to add your blusher

I put liquid concealer (touche eclat) under my mineral foundation, then benetint on top, followed by powder blusher (I have always used 2 blushers!)

I have recently been enticed away from mineral foundation though to a YSL one with the same technology as touche eclat, I'm loving it at the moment, and it makes by skin look really bright and fresh.
