As for greyhoundcrazy's concerns - I second Jeannie, and I've a red nose and broken veins too (why don't I meet fellow sufferers in real life? it's only on forums I don't feel a freak  ) I couldn't wear any liquid/cream foundation, it went like crazy paving and/or you could see red patches thru it, and it melted off my nose & forehead.
If I ever run out of all my full sizes and samples, I intend to try what Jeannie's got, the one with urea in it

Tremendous faith in you!!! And Suki too. You both seemed to guide me and support me when I was so low and my skin was sooo bad.. Seems a long time ago, but only earlier on this year!
I'm loving mineral make up - I personally, as said, found EB to be my personal godsend - thanks to the allantoin in the healing foundation. Or urea as Veronarona points out! I also found the comfrey - one that is very rich in allantoin - has had a great calming effect on my skin too.
The best thing that did happen to my skin - was two weeks in Cyprus with temperatures in the late thirties ....... not very pc - but did me the world of good!! And yes, I wore sun screen. But came home glowing and healthy looking and the cinnamon that Nicola at EB recommended, is perfect - in the sense that I still look quite tanned! And I went away at the end of June!!
I personally, would rather not try the High Street brands - mainly because High Street foundations have contributed to screw my skin up over quite a few years. I am also wanting to be sure I am only getting pure minerals and I am wanting to keep with the allantoin too. I don't want to go back to the hell I used to have all over my face!!
Veronarona - talc clogs, is that basically the issue with it as Suki said? I can still powder my bott if I want to? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Genie

Hi
Did anyone have trouble ordering from the EB site? When I go to pay for my samples it says Error with payment after I put my card details in? And I know there is nothing wrong my end? I did try to ring the mobile number that is on the site this afternoon but it kept going straight to answerphone.
Thanks0 -

I'm good thanks... Not had any of the minerals yet didn't get round to ordering. I did order the Comfrey ointment though and have used that for the last couple of nights so I'll let you know how I get on with that.
Probably is just me with the website0 -

I infer from the allsorts that I've read that if zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide are replaced in significant quantities by talc, the powder will be less covering. I would think that some users may decide that talc clogs and others won't.
I'm wondering how much we are going to have to read, and for how long, before we really know anything. Most so-called beauty therapists seem the type to believe in fairies, they must be gullible to a fault, or they must be liars.
I use mineral makeup because it gives me skin on my face that doesn't invite pity

I think this research has been discredited by other research - Paula's article says that talc injected into rats' ovaries _pale_ did not cause cancer.

Exactly!!! It is so kind to one..
I did and still do, find that since I have been a bit tanned, and using a darker mineral - if it is settling in my lines, it is not showing. I am wondering, therefore, that if you use one that is a shade too light say, it sits in the lines and shows? Or.......... is it that I have got better at applying it? I now just apply it kinda any old how, sometimes not even looking at what I am doing! And thinking about it, I am not putting so much on the brush since being a bit browner. May be that would be a better technique too when I am bland looking again.
Plus, my skin is alot better and don't have so many 'problems' to cover!!
Although stress at work is aggravating my ezcema and I have a spot or two - I have just applied my comfrey! Feels better already!Genie

Hi
Has anyone tried Pure Minerals from BarefacedBeauty.co.uk??????
I have been looking at all the mineral websites - sheer cover sounds good but is expensive and contaims Bismuth and so does Bare Escentials. Not sure what to try but I thought I might try some samples from Pure Minerals - just wondered if anyone has tried it?????

Am getting on fine with the Maybelline, thanks. Very comfortable and light but slightly more of a sheen than I would prefer. I normally only wear a translucent matte finishing powder (the Maybelline in fact) and some blusher.
So I have ordered some samples from the Elemental Beauty website - light foundation and finishing powders in several of their, what look like being, more matte styles.
Will probably mix and match a bit then. But as I haven't tried mineral make up before, it will be good to have some comparisons.
I am quite happy with the feel, the coverage and the texture of the Maybelline though, for anyone wanting to try it.0 -
Lordy is it only earlier in this year that we all came together about out dreadful skin?
I have to say that using a mix of recommendations from you all on this board by skin has never looked or felt so good.
Mineral make up - using a mix of EB,meoww (or some such) and bare escentuals. I love the healing foundation from EB because a) fantastic coverage using so little and b) my skin doesnt react to it. The meoww bronzers are the BIZZ - im using the wee sample packets I ordered months ago and still don't look like Im going to be running out before next summer. They are really funny looking shades in the pkts but give a lovely finish. I still remain faithful to BE because of the colour - closest match without having to mix or blend - although I will get a slight redness appear after wearing it although I don't get the full on itching that a wet foundation will bring on.
And after trying many finishing powders - mineral veil every time. I can add and add to this all day if I need to blot - and it just really doesnt cake.
Lilly lo - sorry I just never got on with it at all. Shame because I had heard sucj good things but the anti shine stuff was the one thing I had high hope of - and found it very lacking. I know its a clay but to find your pot full of wee boulders that didnt break down and scratched your face when trying to apply - well need I say more.
Dont think Im ever going to win any beauty awards but since finding minerals I no longer feel so self conscience about my make up - worry if its sunk into my pores or just slid right off my face altogether or be too scared to smile incase my face cracked0
