As an update - the first day of leaving the house wearing mineral foundation and not only does my mother tell me I'm looking well but a random bloke in the supermarket made a nice comment too (and I checked for a white stick ;) )

I could get those comments if I were a few years younger.... maybe.... :D

HanSpan - call Nicola and let her know about the 'yellow' tones - I am sure she will be concerned and try to put it right for you. I've found her helpful and others rave about her too.

Let us know how you get on.

:hello: i am getting on a bit so have some age spots on my face which i usuallly cover with a concealer stick. Usually they show through within half an hour.
just found some mineral make up by Loreal which has stayed on all day and kept my face fresh looking and my red spots coveed also. its called
true match and cost £13.99 a big difference to the True Colour advertised on the shopping channel. i wont ever use anything else now.:j

I finally ordered some samples from Elemental Beauty on all your recommendations. Have to agree that the lady there is lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately although I love the 'feel' the colours are a bit yellow on me - even the barley.
Also I seem to have a strange problem with my nose looking like a strawberry - does anyone have any suggestions for how to prevent that? I'm sure I saw a post about pore minimising cream but can't for the life of me find it.

I'm a bit of a makeup junkie so I didn't really need to get new stuff as I already have foundation from two places on ebay that I've not seen mentioned here before:
I got a kit several years ago from face-value-cosmetics in the US which was extremely good value. You can get both light and medium foundation in a clever little two layer sifter jar so you can mix and alter as you get paler or darker. The colour suits me well and I quite like the feel but with all the talk about what's in different formulations I'm curious about how 'pure' it is. The one bad thing I got from them was a brush you can put powder in the stem of - seemed a fantastic idea for taking out but nasty nasty brush texture made me itch. Has anyone found one that's worth trying?

The other place is Minerals will work 4 U (which I think is Irish from memory). They have the colour that works best for me when I'm pale- light neutral - as well as some lovely colours of multipurpose minerals and great red lipgloss. Also my favourite brush - a kabuki with a long handle but it is £12. This seller gives the contents of the makeup and says all have only mineral in and they do a 5set sample pack for £10. For those of you I saw in earlier posts having problems with EB being yellow this place might be worth a go, although I think they are more expensive.

I've got the day off so I think I might go shopping and wash all the brushes now!

It can be hard to work out your own skin tone and which foundation to go for. If it is looking a bit yellow, you could need a pinker sample to counteract or balance it. Recommend you give Nicola a call - she wouldn't want you to be unhappy with your purchase.

i dont but i bought mine from superdrug today and there are testers available for all shades. i think there are about 7 shades in all.

there is a little brush with it. you turn the pot upside down so powder comes out of the holes and then you use this brush in circular movements over your face. i was told this by my daughter, when she bought hers (which i tried yesterday) she said there was some instructions with hers but there was none with mine. i cant recommend it highly enough.

hello, can i contribute. today i tried my daughters new make up
its Loreal True Match which is a mineral make up. Brilliant, I;m getting on a bit and have age spots on my face which i usually try to cover with a concealer stick and is never very successful. this Tru Match stayed on all day, my age discolouration stayed covered up for hours and hours £13.99 and worth every penny. Superdrug sell it at this price, far less than the shopping channels or ebay.
