  • could it be a typo, and secr possibly decr = decrease?
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

  • I think Groatie queenie is right -

on your knit rows only, knit the 1st stitch, then decrease 1 , knit to the last 3 stitches, then decrease 1 (knit 2 together, but from the second stitch into the first - this makes it slant the other way), knit the last stitch.

    for the front

Cast off the middle stitches, then working on one side at a time, decrease 1 stitch at next and every 4th row at the neck edge (repeat this 2,3 or 4 times depending on the size). Then decrease every 8th row twice) (remember to decrease 1 stitch in from the edge)

At the same time as doing the neck shaping, decrease the armholes the same as you did for the back when the work measures 32,33,34 cm depending on size)

Reading this back I'm not sure that it makes any more sense! however - the pattern is simple so don't panic.

    i hope this helped

Looks like these pins are mm, as I knit with chunky double and use 10mm or (000) needles. It only takes a couple of rows to grow an inch! Let us know how you get on.

You could try searching for patterns using Sirdar Super Chunky or Emu Snowball/Snowstorm. These both knit up to the equivalent of two strands of chunky used together. You might even find patterns in charity shops for these.

I think that the needle size is likely to be given in mm, ie use patterns for needle size 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm and not UK size 7,8,9,10 or US size 7,8,9 or 10, which are quite different.
There is a conversion chart showing US, UK and European metric sizes here:
