How about a Nordic (Norweigen) style jumper some of the styles are retty yuck but other are really nice lol. My dads side being Norwegien I had many a lovely jumper knitted for off my nana. She'll have loads not that will help you of course.
Heres a link to one that will give you an idea of a style.

Or just try putting Nordic knitting patterns or change the wording to maybe get more results in google. Maybe look for Nordic patterns on ebay??

    Anyway good luck.

If you can get hold of any of the 'Stitch n !!!!!' books they have lots of lovely, trendy patterns in! Might be worth doing a search on craftster.org too.

What a lovely idea............your daughter will be so impressed!

How about asking her to choose the pattern herself from a wool shop so then you are sure she really likes it. It would be so galling to make it and then realise that she didnt like the style or colour..............!

I have just started knitting the back.I need someone to translate this for me:

"when work measures 32cm to work the armholes secr. on the side inside 1 stitch, 1 st. every 2 rows twice"

if anyone could write it out for me row by row that would be soo helpful!
