I have anaemia and GP couldn't figure out why. I was taking a vitamin supplement, eating a varied low carb diet. everything else on my blood tests was excellent. I jut found out that my diabetes drug, Metformn, affects vitamin B12 uptake and that leads to anaemia. I've already tried iron tablets and the liquid one without success. Now I'm going to up vitamin B12 and see if that works.

So I just dropped in to suggest that if you're on medication you can go to a pharmacist at any chemist/supermarket and ask if any of the drugs you're taking could cause vitamin deficiencies or other side effects of tiredness and s/he won't charge you.

    Hello All,

Another B12 and TATT person. (Potentially)

Though I am still in the process of being tested for a number of things but the Neurologist believes I have pernicious anaemia.

Presently I am not starting with B12:

    1. Because I don’t want to skew any current test results
    2. Mine is likely to be a malabsorption issue and I not sure how you get around that

But I just wanted to say its unbelievable how knocked a person can feel. Yesterday I really thought I was too shattered to actually breathe.

I do have a varied diet, but I don’t drink enough water and I could fit in much more veg. I think I am sensitive to wheat but this has not been confirmed, however I love my bread.

Just thought I would check in and say Hi
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...

Hi there.. well had an HbA1c and other blood tests at beginning of May and the anaemia has gone and I'm not deficient in B vits. My blood glucose was also normal :D thanks to low carbing. Still felt really tired much of the time.

I've given up Diet Pepsi, sweeteners, and then after finding that Tesco pork loin chops contained 11% added water, dried glucose syrup and sodium acetate I gave up eating any food or drink with additives.

    HUGE difference within a week.

Yes it is restrictive because if you're used to eating virtually fat free yogurts and breakfast cereals and baking it would be a huge change.

It was all very well being slimmest I'd been since 1995 but no energy was making me feel what's the point. Now I feel much more Tigger like :D

The human body was never designed for all these chemicals and I'm now convinced (very Prince Charles of me I know) that all the cr*p added to our food is the root cause of all the allergies and deficiencies and intolerances we end up with, which make us feel chronically tired.

I still pop onto thread and read.

I have adjusted my diet, made no difference to me feeling sleepy after lunch or Dinner, no health problems.

I just go with the flow now, when I need to sleep I sleep. Thank goodness I only work part time.

I been doing the 5.2 diet and on the two fast days its lovely not to feel tired during day, only cause I'm not eating until 7pm and then I need a sleep after dinner, but I don't need to lose any more weight so can't continue using the diet. I only had 6 pounds to lose.
