SO here i am sat in front of the biggest loser, with a glass of wine some wotzits and a chocy biccy. fell asleep for about an hr earlier, really not doing myself any favours am i?
No you are probably not, but I can sympathise! Small changes all add up though - so is there one thing in that little list you could change? Say, a smaller glass of wine (perhaps find a smaller glass in a charity shop), or more healthy snacks? Do you snack because you are hungry or bored, or feel in need of some sort of treat and you are too tired to do anything else?

Dehydration can cause fatigue apparently - I always try and remember to drink more water, keep forgetting of course, but we could encourage each other to drink more water. (I don't believe in this drink 2 litres a day stuff though).
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Me too, actually after I've eaten lunch and dinner I have real problems keeping my eyes open.

I have no health problems as I know of, slim and reasonably fit.

I often wonder why I feel really sleepy to the point of having to sleep after I've eaten?

You could be describing me here! I to am also tired all the time :(

i only ate the stuff cos they were in the house and i suppose i was bored-biccys have gone now, i'll try not to get some more for a while. The wine it was a really small glass luckily. Im a terror for not having enough water, it's something i really need to work on, though ive just had a glass of orange juice to take my iron tablet(you need vit c to help the iron absorb apparently)

went to bed at 10.20pm(already had an hrs sleep) woke up at 2ish eventually got to sleep, then up at 4.15 mmmmm

There's only one slice of bread left so cant have my usual toast for breccy,

Breakfast; porridge & jam cup of tea
lunch & snacks throughout day; beans on toast; rice pudding, wotzits, apple kiwi fruit, few more cups of tea
tea; stew in slow cooker with red meat and loads of veggies.glass of wine

will try to go for a walk at lunchtime at least.Getting a lift home which is great.
  • Hi people I find iron tablets from doctor very evil then bung you up and make you sore so my personal preference ( not advice just my preference that people might like to hear) is to get myself to my local health food sho and get iron supplement from there they can give same if not higher doses of iron which are liquid or tablet form which are kinder to my insides and less side effects and don't make me feel bad! Xxx

P.s if anyone has a juicer look up juice master. Com his stuff is amazing when I stop and go back to previous eating junk/tea/coffee / processed crap I can certainly feel it the jui es give you soooooooo much energy it's unbelievable!!
  • Sleepy after eating is too much processed food and carbs and we eat until 200% full we should eAt till we are 80% full so stomach has room to digest .... Which I don't always do!!!

I was just going to ask about the iron tablets from the docs and saw your post, this is my third day on them and I feel sicky and full up but even before I have eaten so then I have to force myself to eat as I don't need to loose weight at all, I also feel kind of spaced out and I'm still really tatt, dd says she gets this as well, any ideas? also what do you mean by sore? I have some ABC plus tablets here from H&B I wonder if they would be better but I don't want to go against medical advice, which supplements do you take?

I am certainly going to buy a juicer or a blender shortly could anyone suggest which one would be better?
Thank you for this site Martin

I have an Oscar 900. It is expensive but has a long guarantee and I use it alot. The way it extracts juice doesn't overheat the food so no extra enzymes are killed off.

When looking for a juicer, it is really important to get one that is easy to clean other wise it becomes too much of a chore to use.

Mind is quick and easy to clean and I always quicly clean it before I allow myself to drink my juice. An Oscar900 can juice everything - carrots etc. Google for more info.

Of course, threr are cheaper ones on the market and hopefullyothers will come up with their suggestions. I wanted to invest in a top quality one for a life style change, but I was able to borrow one from a friend first.

Hi am in my late thirties with 2 kids. Ones 8, ones 18, I feel terrible that im house bound/bed bound all the time! I probably manage to get out the house twice a month:eek: I feel very upset trying to write this but here goes(deep Breath)

I've been on 1/2 prozac since my dad died in 1996. Then it all started to role down hill from there. Slowly over the years up till now I've gained 7 stone in weight, (thats very slowly since 1996).

I also had another baby in 2003 which brought my weight up to 15.7lb's.
when I reached 12.7lb's back in 2000 my old OH started to get me to sleep on the seatte. As he couldnt stand my snoring and thats when I started to feel fatigued all the time.

I'll now zip you forward to last year when I went on holiday with my best friend and we shared a room. Her sister had SLEEP APNEA as a child and she said I had the same syptoms like the heavy snoring, then I stop BREATHING.
After a few months I finally got an appointment with the sleep clinic in the hospital. After loads of checks and tests they said on average I'd had ONE HOUR SLEEP since 2000 and it was now 2011!
I now sleep with a machine and full face mask which blows constant air into my mouth.
This is to keep the airway's open in your neck while your asleep.

Sleep wise I feel much better and I put all this on here so you other ladies/gents get checked out. YOU WILL NOT KNOW YOU ARE CONSTANTLY WAKING UP!! at night as your mind will still be asleep.

Next big thing that is really crippling me is I had an full hysterctomy last August and IVE NEVER RECOVERED FROM IT. I feel like I have permanent flu.

I can bearly walk with out being in pain the doctors dont sort me out the just keep doing more blood test and urine tests and send me home with antibiotics since about christmas time.

A nurse I saw one day said she thinks I have a prolapsed bladder but Ive been waiting months and months for a hospital appointment am at my WITS END!!
None of the doctors I have seen have told me they think I have a prolasped bladder, WHAT DO i DO??

AM SEEING THE DOCTOR TOMORROW HAS ANYONE GOT ANY HINTS OR TIPS?

Other stuff thats wrong with me is I have a under-active tyroid am on 75grams a day of Tyroxine which doesnt seem to anything apart from getting rid of the burning sensation in my feet and legs.
    Asthma, Eczema, Anxity,
    Insomnia,serve deppression,
    anemia,Arthritis,I.B.S,
    fatigue,scoliosis,
    fibromyalgia,water retention,
    constipation,migraines,chronic pain in my back,
Brain fog and I feel sick when I wake up for about three hours.

Thats not all my syptoms but there the main things which are wrong with me.
I had a full hysterctomy because I had really chronic Endometriosis.

After the op the surgeon told me he had to take one of my overies away as it had a non cancerous syst.
So my hormones are now all over the place! (my hormone level goes up and down like a yoyo which plays merry hell with my moods):(

The operation didnt go acording to plan. I have never felt better since I had it done, am constantly needing the loo.
Apart from flushing my usless self down the toliet has anyone got any suggestions??? am pretty desprate:mad:. Best wishes:A

  • Oh bless you alliboy you seem to have hafd more than your fair share to deal with :grouphug:

I think youre only option is tell the dr that you refuse to leave until they give you some 'proper' help. Write everything down that is negatively affecting your daily life and make sure he/she reads it too.

Re Thyroxin, I know for some lucky people it is a wonder drug but I found it useless. I went to see a private specialist who assertained that my adrenal glands were no longer functioning correctly do the UAT and that until that was fixed no amount of thyroid replacement would work. So for about 3 months I had to go on steroids and T3 before then moving on to natural thyroid replacement and the difference has been amazing :) I did initially put nearly 2 stone on while on the steroids but then within 3 months I lost 4 stone without trying!!! Seem to now be stuck at a stone over weight but I can work on that ;)

I would strongly recommend any still suffering thyroid symptoms take a look at a site called 'Stop the Thyroid Madness', I learnt so much about my illness and the things I can do to help myself.
