Soup with oatcakes and houmous in the winter usually accompanied by a piece of fruit and in the summer I have salad or couscous every day.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Soup and a roll for me!!

I buy Heinz Big Soups on special offer (usually 3 for 2, cheapest free), I have half a tin a day, and then have a roll with butter. Lovely during the winter, it costs just over 50p per meal, and it keeps me full up til tea time :)

The fella goes to work with:
Oats to make up porridge for mid morning break, and a banana. Lunch is hummus or peanut butter sandwiches, carrots, an apple. He has access to a kettle for hot drinks during the day too. He is home in time for tea so that is sufficient.

Trying to cut back on carbs so I have a little bit of everything today: piece of smoked mackerel, some chorizo, cherry toms, cucumber, a mini Babybel and a bit of hummus.

Have a day off today, so am de cluttering the guest bedroom. You know, the place where everything without a home goes, until you get a phone call to say, "I'll be in town next Saturday, ok if I stay over"? That's fine, but OMG, get the room cleared quick!

Anyhow, just had lovely soft floury rolls with corned beef, humus, tomato mayo, and salad leaves. And tea.

Too full to move, but it was lovely!

Got my DGD staying with me for half term so am going to try to make some healthier lunches. Today she had a ham salad and I had mine in a sandwich.

Shamefully, today I stopped off at a MD's for a burger... In my defence though, I was a half hour from home, and had just spent the past 2 hours in IKEA. £2.39 for a Big Mac though! That seemed expensive to me, but perhaps I'm out of touch.

Normally for lunch, if I'm at work I usually have a roll and a bag of crisps (I make them on a Sunday and freeze for the week ahead), and if I'm at home I'll often have soup.
Because it's fun to have money!
