    Morning all

Just been wading through a load of work which is very boring and therefore I am easily tempted to come back here and have a [strike]very long [/strike]quick read. Got back from TMs about 9.30 which was a bit naughty but hey the boss round here is pretty cool:D We had a real laugh and the girl is doing good:j I can feel a Police concert coming on for sure- anyone wanna join us.

Happy Everything to Everyone - not a Valentines girl myself either as am very very happily single (would rather buy my own choccys than have to put up with what some of you do with your OHs:o ) Hope the happy ones amongst you get to enjoy a special evening :j

Am feeling slightly slimmer as a result of not eating a big load of Shortbread that Edi had for me this week (Frizz you should be ashamed:D) Sorry to have missed you Edi maybe next time eh:beer: - coffee of course:D )

anyway work is calling (well its actually started to yell now:eek: :D )

    Have a great day all
    Hugs Nels xx

I was happy when I got up but our post was a speeding ticket from last week.

Before anyone lectures us, it was a dual carriageway we didn't know, it was a 30mph (not road works or built up area) and we did 42mph. He thought it was 50mph. It changes really quickly and they were confusing. But it won't wash, so have to accept the consequences. It is our first offence too.

    It's the timing tho':(

I don't want to tell my OH tonight either. It is going to be hard to pretend to be happy later.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

As it is the first time - what is the procedure?

I couldn't concentrate and understand what to do.

    Happy Birthday Bargain Babe!:bdaycake:

Congratulations to the Ribbon family, and a special hello to it's newest member!

20 years Pen-Pen, well done but you're only a beginner!! (not letting on how long DH and I have been together, too aging:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

(((((((hugs)))))))) to all who need them, but especially ageandjo, kyle and Penny-Pincher. Kyle I'm full of admiration for the strength you've shown in facing your problem. You'll get there for sure!!!:D :D

Not got very much done yet today, except for a one and a half hour long-distance call to Dad!  (definitely NOT money-saving and also rather depressing) Did manage to load the WM one-handed, tried to iron one handed but didn't work out:rotfl: :rotfl:

We normally acknowledge Valentines chez Churchmouse, but haven't this year:confused: Never have gone in for the huge bunch of roses though. Too many of the flowers are flown in from afar and just don't last, and the prices:eek: No today has a much better and healthier anniversary to celebrate. I (and DH!) gave up smoking 1 year ago today!!:T :T :D I know self-praise is no praise but I am rather proud of us succeeding this far. I'm also pleased that I haven't turned into a reformed smoking nazi:D When I smoked I hated the way some who had quit turned so holier-than-thou. Was my absolute intention never to become one and so far I haven't. Must say I hate the smell now though:o :o

Anyway I'm not getting anything done sat here so hope you all have good days,
    CMxx

PS Hope it all goes well for you Ticklemouse, no matter how right the decision, it's still a hard time to go through.

Sorry if I deafened anyone with that scream! As I posted the message came back about "technical difficulties" and I thought my post had been lost! Obviously it hadn't.

mine was three years ago now. seem to remember there was form to sign to admit to the charge. then I had to send a cheque and my driving license to the court. it came back with the points typed on.

I had to inform car insurance companies. one put the price up the other didnt. I think most insurance companies dont bother for one speeding ticket.

The more today goes on the more depressed I feel.

I don't usually watch the news or pay much attention to it, though i had of course, vaguely heard about the death of a young toddler in Leeds, though had paid no heed to it. However OH mentioned something this morning and I have just been reading the story properly and realised that I was in that part of Leeds as it was happening. OH's grandad lives a few streets away and we had gone to visit him and to plant a memorial tree in memory of his late wife in the woods close to where it happened. It's such a terrible tragedy and now seems so close to home. You never think it could happen in a place you go to so regularly...

Still feel rubbish - really need to get well for the Ice Hockey tonight... And also nipped to Morrisons yesterday with a list for everything we'll need in the next two weeks to tide us over until payday, and I stuck to it strictly and bought Value products wherever possible. It came to £21.99 (using a £5 petrol voucher) and I was pleased with that until I came to update the food budget and realised that I have gone over this month :( Not by a lot (only £5 or so) but I don't know why as we usually come in £10 under... I've analysed all the shopping receipts from this month and we've bought nothing extravagant or unusual... I didn't even go over at Xmas so why we have this month I don't know  I feel so rotten and down now.

Thank you - I think it is the unknown and the timing that has bothered me. We have been driving for over 20 years and it is our first time.

I got the form this morning but didn't know what happened next.

It seems rather harsh to have the points for so long for a relatively small offence and if it was in a built up area fair enough but a wide quiet dual carriageway on an A road sucks!

Apparently DS has quite a temperature, she's actually given him Peniccillin in case it's not a virus but she thinks he could have had glandular fever and that is why it's taking him so long to get back to his normal self. So I have fed him paracetamol and packed him off to bed. She wants him to come in as soon as he is well for blood tests. I said in that case I will have to wait for a day he's well and ring the surgery and tell them to get him in immediately :D

I ache all over now and wish I could go to bed :(
