Hi everyone
I am finally reigning in my SM shopping! My grand total this week came to £63 instead of about £85. Not a huge difference, but its still a difference and still makes me feel like i am accomplishing something!
I have a full weeks meals, lunches, snacks and breakfasts in the house, so shouldnt need to go near a SM until Friday (pay day).I like keeping my money instead of giving it to the SMs!
Oh well done, I am so pleased for you. :T:T:T:T:T:T:TSlimming World at target0 -

Hi all on this grey and dreary Monday (at least here it is!)
I'm very pleased as had to go to the town about 9 miles away (using my last fumes of petrol), to pick up my latest sick note and prescriptions, and get them filled. As the pharmacy is opposite A1d! I popped in while waiting with my little 5 item list, and was extremely pleased with my purchases of:
1x 6pack Super 6 pears - 69p
1x 6pack Super 6 plums - 69p
1x 1kg bananas - 68p (worked out cheaper per kg than the 1.5kg family bag...)
1x Frozen Petit Pois - 99p (cheaper and bigger bag than Mr T!)
1x 1kg onions - 69p
So a total spent of £3.77 (including a 3p bag which I forgot, d'oh!!)
That brings me to the end of my February grocery buying, so
I'm declaring Feb GC as under-budget at:
£76.28 / £98 (£21.72 surplus)
I've already set my March budget to £70 which helenjelly has kindly updated on the March thread, so I'll see you all over there! I'm so pleased, this is my lowest month EVER on groceries :T
LC
Feb GC: £76.28/£98
Week 1: £13.38/£14
Week 2: £17.69/£18
Week 3: £12.41/£13
Week 4: £2.98/£14
Week 5: £5.58/£14

I can't believe I am nearly on my second month of the grocery challenge. As a newbie to this I am now confused about which thread Feb or March I am meant to be posting in! Decided as I am still in my February wage packet, then I shall remain in the February one until Weds, although I shall read the March one.
This week off malarkey is something I could get used to. I took my latest Ebay sales to the post office, popped into our furniture recycling place and found a really nice under-unit freezer for £30 which they are delivering tomorrow. I am so pleased to be able to have some decent freezer storage and it will help so much with batch cooking. It'll need a good clean as it smells a bit musty, but it has been checked over by the recycling place so the electrics are good and it comes with a 3 month guarantee. Do I have to let it sit awhile before switching it on?
After that expensive jaunt, I took next door's dogs out for a lovely walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. My lunch was soup made from leftover odds and ends from yesterday's massive cookfest and it was delicious!
This afternoon, I shall be doing some more Ebaying, parcelling up my Zapper books and doing a bit of meal planning for the next couple of weeks. Certainly beats working!31.5/1000 -
Been to Asda, spent £97 on, A NEW FRIDGE, yah have needed one for ages like a few years,My old one was ancient when gifted to me about five years old,was grot, chugged and chuffed its way into the occasional hipcupping clank bang shudder and it was like peering into a cave,(no light) and I dont even want to think what its cost me in Electric.
Yesterday my DD said she had seen these in Asda and would I like to go and get one? She came at 9am this morning and we hauled the old one out, went to Asda and bought the New One, lovely young man put it in the car for us and back home it came. Had a quick coffee and put old one in car, weighed an absolute ton and off to Recycling centre where a very kind gentleman got it out of the car for us dumped all packaging and several other bits at the same time and back home for coffee and a lovely chat by 11.30.
So still under budget, well stocked and a lovely, with a light, Fridge, that will save me on the Electric, what more could I possibly ask for. Well the cooker and washing machine are well past
their use by too so will have a look a round. Not had so much fun in years.Slimming World at target0 -
Heh-heh, how pleased are we with our new cold storage items? £97 sounds a bargain and probably will be more efficient!31.5/1000

I know that nervous feeling so well, and blinking blind panic too,
what i did was a "use up "couple of days out of freezer and cupboards, or more, its amazing what you find in cupboard and freezer, for the first week of the month, stretch another couple of meals out of the second week, third and fourth as well.Helps
enormously if you can get whoopsies, and hopefully not need to do the 5th shop.
Hope this works for you.Slimming World at target0
