yes - wooligans is a nickname we gave ourseves on the knit a square thread
i do a lot of knitting for charities and good causes (mostly via the knit a square thread on here or the loving hands website)
im 50 this year so wanted to mark the occasion by challenging myself to knit 50 item for a good cause. a very dear lovely lady who used the name mayflower on here and loving hands sadly passed away recently she designed her own patterns and left a wonderful legacy of patterns for us to knit up.
as my challenge i have decided to knit 50 of her patterns for good causes - another reason i chose mays patterns is that my brothers partner had premature twins last year one is now home but 6 months later the other continues her fight and remains desperately poorle in hospital.
so im knitting 50 of mays designs for premature babies that will be given to hospitals for use in the baby and prem departments.
sorry its a long winded answer and i hope that it makes sense to you.
off to find the recipie for butternut squash bake now i can make it without but would sooner give the proper recipie on hereSPC~12 ot 124

its sort of like a veggie bread and butter pudding with omph
serves 4-6
1 large onion or leek sliced thinly
1 tbsp olive oil
375ml milk
225ml single cream
3 eggs
fresh herbs (chives parsley or whatever you have) snipped
300gm sweetcorn
1 baguette or any rolls crust or french stickl to the equivilant amount (slightly dry works well as a use up) cut into 1cm slices
500gm butternut squash peeled and sliced about 1cm thick
100gm cheddar cheese grated
heat oven gas 5/ 190*C
fry onion (leek) on low heat until soft season and set aside.
whisk milk cream and eggs in a bowl season add herbs set aside
arrange half the bread slices in a buttered ovenproof dish, layer with half the onion (leek) sprinkle over falf the sweetcorn. arrange half the squash slices then sprinkle half the grated cheese on top. repeat the layers once more so all ingredients are used. stir the milk mixture and pour over the layered ingredients
cover with foil bake for 20 mins then remove foil and bake for another 30-40 mins until golden on top.
its a good way of using up bread that slightly dry breadSPC~12 ot 124

Hi all. I am declaring at 363.51/350 so an overspend of £13.51. I know that this is ridiculous for me and DH but in my defence would say that it includes all alcohol, coal, toiletries, entertaining at home (and we do a lot) and small household items. It is also less than it used to be so I am getting better. I still have a lot to learn from you all and couldn't manage without this thread. Thanks to all and well done to those who are under or around budget.0

Just had my Appr0ved F00ds order come
£183 (RRP) of goods for £60  including 10 tins of 2.5kg chopped toms for £9.99 :T. That will keep me going for a good 6 months or so
I have also spent £20 as well on various bits and pieces this week in town.
Also got a delivery from MrT tomorrow and my first Rosspa delivery due tomorrow. Should last me 10 days or so. Will update my sig. with those when I get the delivery. Though most of it will be used in March I shall put it under Feb. as that is when the payment comes out of my bank.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
