Sometimes I'm adding a couple of tablespoons of water and sometimes not bothering as there's so much water content anyway. But yes, I'm drinking the liquid too! Sooo lovely. Might lose some weight living on all these vegetables too!

Now, can you tell me a way of drinking no-calorie wine and no-calorie chocolate? :rotfl:

Well I don't drink wine - when I have chocolate - one square a day. Really look forward to that one square.

I would like to join for March as I need to get grocery spends under control.

Had to chip in though at the thought of Florence eating just one square of chocolate - I'd be scared that it would get lonely! I'd have to make sure it had friends ;)

When the March challenge starts I'm going to try for £350 for me, DH and two kids (and the rabbit).

  • Hey lovely people!

Got back last night from the green green grass of home (what a result on Saturday!)

Spend £21.70 in A$da, but that included lots of local treats (welsh cakes etc.), some welsh cheese and 15 welsh FR eggs for £2!
Whoever said earlier that a lot of the offers there are for junk is right though.... I did also get the loo roll offer - 24 rolls + 8 free for £10, and used the manufacturer's coupon for 50p off, so got 32 rolls for £9.50:D

Also spent £6.24 in L1dl but couldn't find any 17p chocolate anywhere:( (probably better that I didn't tbh!)

Have my first App.F order arriving today, and discovered with horror that I've accidentally clicked 2 of something - Olives!

I now have 4600g:eek: of black sliced olives turning up and don't have a clue how to use them all:rotfl: Any ideas gratefully received!

I thought I would bung a few into pasta, pizza, salad etc but am a bit stumped after that. Can I freeze them?!

Thanks for the veg info florence! Will def try that.

Last few days of Feb here, need some basics (how can we eat SO much cheese?! Horrified to realise none in the house today, quick change of breakfast plan...) but realised that just cos it's Monday (my usual menu plan and sm day) I don't actually HAVE to go and spend £40 today and bring myself almost up to budget, I can just get the absolute necessities and squeeze another few days out of the cupbaords, fridge and freezer. Habits are habits for a reason, means they're hard to break.

    Happy Monday all!

    Hi everyone
I am finally reigning in my SM shopping! My grand total this week came to £63 instead of about £85. Not a huge difference, but its still a difference and still makes me feel like i am accomplishing something!
I have a full weeks meals, lunches, snacks and breakfasts in the house, so shouldnt need to go near a SM until Friday (pay day).

:) I like keeping my money instead of giving it to the SMs!
  • Final spend for Feb fo me is £341.75`, overbudget unfortunately but definately getting to grips with where it's going a bit more -that take away on Saturday didn't help :). Will post new budget on March thread. Thank you so much for running this challenge.

On Saturday's list was toilet paper. Kinda urgent as only one roll left in the cupboard - or was it? We have 2 bathrooms (one ensuite, one family) and a downstairs loo. Each has a toilet roll storage device of some sort. So I went round counting (after the shop unfortunately) and realised we actually had 9 rolls plus the one in the cupboard plus the actual rolls on the holders. D'oh. Why am I storing stuff for the SMs? And am I the only one who had to keep excess toilet rolls in the rooms? Surely one spare would suffice!
