I got an electrician in and he found a dead mouse in the powerpoint in the garden shed (it had crept in where the cable entered and been electrocuted) he then fitted a separate spur to isolate the outdoor points (garage too). That and long-life bulbs seems to have helped a lot.
NSD here Today. Hopeful for target on Wednesday.
Busy week in prospect, have a good one everyone

I'm pretty sure we don't have anything outside, but I do think there are mice in the house - I've heard something running along below the floorboards in my bedroom anyway :rotfl: Someone tried to scare me by telling me that mice are very light and it might be [strike]monsters[/strike] rats but I'm ignoring that for now0 -

Fret not - I had monsters with tap shoes in my loft and convinced myself that racket must mean that its rats - it wasn't - "just" mice.44 day challenge

I'm so proud of myself today! I went to farmfoods for the first time ever, as ours has just opened, and i told myself i was just going for a reccy, and that's what I did! It helped that I was with my neighbour, who it turns out is as bad as me!! He's a retired 60-something year old, and he was saying oh no, that's x amount in x shop!! I thought I was talking to myself in a mirror, it was hilarious! Anyway, as I didn't spend anything in there, I have a nsd to report. Woop woop!! There were lots of things I will buy to try though. Any advice on things to avoid?
Was going to make a bolognese pasta bake for dinner, but the children had a main at their dad's at lunch time, so they just had boiled eggs for tea, and I had a jacket with lo mince. Makes tomorrow hard, though, as we were going to have lo pasta bake!! I don't want to just make it tom, as they're back at their dad's on tues, so the rest won't get eaten. I'm having mushroom and pea (plus poss chicken) curry tues and weds, lush, and then we're having fiah and chips fom the chippy on Thurs (dd's birthday, so her choice) and who knows what on friday! Something else from stores, tbc...
Night all,

Hehe, no worries!
Not strictly GC, but I mentioned before that I was going to try the Amaretto from A1d1 in March GC (one of my fave tipples with some DC!), but today went to a friends and we nipped out to get some from my pocket money.
It was £4.99 for 50cl.
Mr T cheapy brand has gone up to about £9.70 for 70cl.
So a massive saving.
and I'll tell you what, it was BLINKIN LOVELY:D:D
I'm going to go and have another one now, just a weak one as I just love the taste! But I'll definitely be getting another one in March! VERY PLEASED
At friends today was 5 of us, for an impromptu first BBQ of the year. I took a pack of 6 veggie sausages from the freezer that I'd got on offer for £1.14 - lovely, Mr T Finest Mediterannean style, yum! And also most of a bag of S3nsations crisps that I got on offer and was only going to pig out on anyway (I can't be trusted with these things which is why I generally avoid buying them!). So apart from the Amaretto from pocket money, I didn't spend anything extra today for that, which was brillFelt guilty though so refused to eat any of their meat (I'm not veggie just not a massive meat eater!) and just had salad, potato salad and bread, and 3 of the veggie sausages. Perfect, don't need any tea now either! :T
My new month starts 29th too, so will be here till then as well, then onto March!
Hope you've all had a nice weekend :j

Hi shazzer73!
One of the AMAZING in-charge-type people generally posts the link for the new thread a couple of days before the new month, so keep looking on here and posting, and you'll see when it's up and running for March.

I have a similar situation with my flatmate. If it's something that's going to be used in the general meal plan, I count it. If it's just a treat that he felt like and wouldn't have been bought normally, I consider it out of his own money. I do the same for one-off treats for us as well, including things like takeaways. Sanity money!
Cooked the massive gammon I got whoopsied earlier in the month today. Roasted it in a cast iron casserole with some root veg and a tiny splash of apple juice, gave it a lovely flavour. Have sliced up the remaining meat and I have enough for three full meals plus a couple of end bits which will get shredded to add to omelettes or pasta.0
