So the only way to watch TV would be with a PC connected.
Not entirely correct.
You can watch tv on the mointor by using an external tv tuner box that has vga output (many available from about £30). This way the pc does not need to be on to watch tv.

Nickp.
I thought (from further up the thread) that £90 was the going rate for a TV to VGA box. (Hmm, that may be a Freeview price though).

Just picked up a Gadmei Digital Freeview Boz for a TFT Monitor off eBay for £46, direct from the manufacturer.
Yet to try it but from the box it supports DVB-T/MPGE-2, EPG Function, Teletext, CATV receive and SXGA Output to 1280 x 1024. Nice little box as well, just 147mm L x 22mm H x 89mm Deep.
It also has remote control and a built in speaker but more importantly a line out so I plan on connecting the speakers from the bottom of the monitor to the box for Audio. I ordered the Soundbar as well BTW with the Monitor.
Now tried the box and it is superb, just plugged it in and ran auto tune found all the usual channels I can receive and a few more. It's connected to an external roof mounted aerial. Used the output from the Soundbar Speakers in to the box and now have TV & Audio on Remote Control, plus EPG and there are even games on the unit. Great value for £46 and get full widescreen viewing.Cheers

what do you think of HP panels? I'm looking for a new TFT and I am deciding between and HP or Samsung. Thanks0

Same here, I reckon from those who posted last week that theirs has arrived, and the timing of their applications ours should arrive anytime in the next week or so.
HTHs fingers crosed.
Samsung are probably the better, but on cost this is great, and may even be a Samsung or LG supplied to HP. Remember the cashback offer ends today._Sherbie28 wrote:what do you think of HP panels? I'm looking for a new TFT and I am deciding between and HP or Samsung.ac's lovechild0 -

Had confirmation email 09/03 and was promised, after I enquired about the delay, that the cheque would be with me by the end of April. Still no sign!
I love my monitor though, well worth the money
