This is the email that I have just received from the HP Promotion company, that is handling the cashback.

    Hi,
You will still be able to claim the cashback with the HP discount,
    Kind regards.

So, is this a good deal now?

this now looks like a cracking deal. don't forget to go via quidco for another 9 quid off. Could you post the whole email so we can use it if they dispute it?

Thanks for the heads up on the Quidco. Looks like I shall be making a purchase now. The email was from an individual named Claire. This is the original email that I sent:

    Hi

Unfortunately PC World had no stock and I was unable to purchase. I have since looked at the HP website and they have it in stock. I have signed up for the business purchase and was provided with the code HPOPTF, which gave a £40 discount off the price of the monitor. If I use the discount code, can I still claim the £50 cashback?

    Kind Regards

    Time to purchase!

This is the H-P L2065 which is a different monitor (not widescreen aspect ratio)

    http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/118828/rb/27109438628

A 20-inch monitor that can do up to 1600x1200 resolution. Reviews seems to say the same panel is used in Dell and LG models and overall pretty good except a little slow.

Ebuyer price: £292.58 inc VAT, free delivery.

    £10 off with Google Checkout

Then claim £50 cash-back from HP.

If you want to turn the monitor into a Freeview TV then I can recommend this MSI USB adaptor at just £16 from Ebuyer.

Ah - you had me going there for a moment. Sadly it's "turn your computer and monitor into a freeview TV"

AverMedia Technologies do a Digital Freeview Box that can be used with a PC TFT Screen. It takes a stabdard Coax input and can output to VGA. There around £130 though.
