No it's not sad, but it is kinda mean to have such a good spreadsheet and keep it to yourselves........ :rotfl:

I have no idea how much Ive made from ebay, started in Decemeber last year, must have made about...... £500? Before fees....

No idea really. My DH spends everything I make on guitar parts, so I never see any of it lol x

is turbolister still available, and does anyone know when the next free listing is??
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

They tend to only give a day or so notice, so watch this space. However the previous two in two weeks would suggest it might be a long wait.

Also just in case your questions were connected, you can't use Turbolister on a FLW.

  • Well done everyone on such good sales this weekend!!!

Sharpee - I use a spreadsheet too!!! Helps keep me track of it all and I've just been through all my old CoPs and binned all the ones who's buyers have given me feedback - I know I'll not need them as they've all received and given good feedback.

Well my items this weekend didn't really go for much and I've got a few that didn't go at all. Not really sure how many times to list things before I decide they're not going to go so I need to send them elsewhere?

I have to confess I'm losing motivation a little. I feel like it's a bit of a full time job atm and doing that on top of work and my newly-walking, turbo-crawling son is getting a little bit much. I don't know. perhaps it's just all the stuff I can't shift that's lying around creating clutter which is demotivating me?

MummyDrusilla, I've not done much the past few weeks, couldn't be bothered at all :o

Give yourself a break for a week or two from listing. By all means still bag stuff up and put it aside (or inside... a cupboard lol) but don't actually list them.

It really does feel like a part time job for me, I'm lucky that I can list when I'm at work when it's quiet, but I'm not even doing that anymore :o Didn't list anything for a few weeks, only relisted things. But I did do it last weekend with the flw, and I've got £250 this weekend! Puts a smile on your face lol

And I keep relisting and relisting, especially if it's a 99p item! It WILL sell :T

I didn't get anything on this weekend as I was on nights and it's been really busy. I do have a mountain to sell though so am going to go though all of it tomorrow and get some photographed in preparation. I might even get on and list them pending how much time I have.
I have a jar in the cupboard now which I am using as a postage float. I am then easily able to see how much I have. I post out the items and pay eBay from my PayPal fees. I then take the PayPal left overs out every so often and use it to boost our holiday fund. So far though, I have used mine to buy a second hand iPhone and a second hand iPad 2. The next round of sales will be used towards paying for the children's passports. It's nice to be able to see how much you've actually taken from eBay and I always try to total it as I go along anyway. I'm getting rid of a bed tomorrow but that's through Facebook. Oh well, keep on keeping on!

We're currently house hunting and hoping to buy and move in the next 3-4 months. :)So I'm busy trying to get rid of all our clutter and make some money for new carpets, furniture etc.

I did a lot of ebaying last year. Made around £2k :jafter all fees etc and it really helped pay for extras for our Wedding last month.

So new uncluttered house is my motivation. I will not have my lovely new home cluttered!!!:T
Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!

I hope this is the right forum? I am new to E-Baying and have sold a shed load of items. The thing is the post office in Salisbury have raised their prices, so the money I made on E-Bay is probably going to have to replace the money I used to post the items in the first place so I won't get any benifit as yet from what I have earned. :(

When I next list stuff should I change it to 'special delivery'? I am a bit worried this will put buyers off. What should I put my post and packaging up to please?

There is a dedicated ebay sub-forum which has loads of info there if you're interested? Of course we'll be happy to help you here too but there's a lot of very experienced business users on there who really are a font of all knowledge!

I wasn't aware of the PO putting their prices up recently but know that there is an increase imminent (april?).

Do you weigh your packages before listing and put accurate postage on? That's the only way you can guarantee you'll not make a loss. I bought a small set of digital scales from a well known supermarket and it's brilliant. It's really accurate and means I can be confident I'm quoting correct postage. When I list, I then bump up the P&P to the next rounded 10p. So if the parcel is going to cost £1.33 to post, I'll charge £1.40 P&P to cover other costs (packaging, marker pens, tape, paper, etc).

I don't bother with special delivery or recorded. You can if you like but I've not had a problem with items not being received (yet) and I only send mine 2nd class by default. I don't mind sending 1st class if a buyer requests it (or courier for heavier items) but on the whole they're happy with 2nd class post. It's really up to you and also the value of the items you're sending I suppose.

Yes I think I will have a break. We've got a busy couple of weekends coming up with a trip to my parents over easter so I'll not have any chance to do anything that weekend anyway. Hopefully I'll be back with renewed vigour!!! I've pretty much maxed out my 100 listings anyway and had started on DH's account as he wanted me to boost his stars. It's a pain going between the 2 accounts all the time and I only check it a couple of times a day so may miss messages.

I suppose I could list at work but feel a little guilty!!!
