Hi everyone...I am occasuional lurker of this thread.
Well done to all of you...:T:T:T
I am selling on ebay from past 1year and currently doing UK only sale. But now I am thinking of selling outside UK too.
I am not sure how to start selling internatinally. Should I start direcly worlwide or first to europe and then slowly to other countries???
If anyone can please help me with any hints and tips to start with, that would be great!!!!
I am also not sure how to charge postage, insurance to different countries.
Thanks in advance for any help...:A0 -
The money I have made from ebay and facebook has been spent on an iPhone and an iPad2. Annoyingly I have been removed from my local selling page. I don't know what I've done wrong other than putting a link to here and the CCCS on an advert of someone who had linked to a money lending site. Hopefully they will let me rejoin. I'm gutted, I had loads of sales through there in the last couple of weeks.
Got 17 items on ebay at the moment. All ending within the next week so hopefully will have some more pennies soon.
I know postage prices are going to be going up soon too. I don't know what they are going up to though. Hopefully not too much of a rise.
thats a bit rubbish, removing you without reason or explanation! I would just use my DH's fb account and rejoin
And well done on the iphone and ipad2! :jCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Thanks guys!
Savvy cash - yes you get 100 free listings under 99p every month.
idlesaver - I ship to UK and EU as standard and will occasionally ship to elsewhere if a buyer requests it and the item isn't otherwise selling. I prefer to ship within EU tho so I don't have to faff on with customs. I downloaded a pdf from the RM website with the P&P prices on for UK and one for international. Means I can check at a glance how much it'll cost me to ship depending on weight. I always charge international for parcel P&P and then refund if it goes as a large letter (the international letter dimensions are smaller than UK). Buyers don't seem to mind this and appreciate the refund!!!Debt free in

I always sell as UK bidders only, I don't know why, but I'm worried about posting outside the UK.
I worry that people's parcels are going to go 'missing'. But maybe I should open it up to EU countries, working out postage of course xCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
I have recently started selling postable items as UK & EU. Since I sold my napkin rings actually. I don't think anyone outside the UK has bought any of my items yet but it has certainly helped to generate some interest elsewhere.
I wish I could just use DH's account but he doesn't have one. Never mnd, hopefully they'll accept my grovelling apology for whatever I've done wrong and let me re-join. If not, well it's all going to have to go on ebay then isn't it?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Thank you for replies.:T
Currently I got 1 message from Italy if I can post there and postage cost. Its a beauty cream. So to start with I think I will try and do EU and see how I get on.
Will have to download RM form.0 -

Italy is one country that many sellers block, It is one of only 2 European countries I will not ship to. Their postage service is appalling, a large percentage of items never seem to arrive.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you Soolin, but is there anyway of using signed for delivery to make sure it has beed delivered???
Also which is the other country you mentioned???
Thanks0 -
That's interesting about Italy Soolin. I've sent my first item there on Monday so we'll see if it gets there. Hope it does. The buyer was a bit abrupt and highly strung in her messages but I put that down to translation issues! She seemed ok once I'd actually posted the item!
Might block italy from now on though.
I've had a couple of items go to lithuania, 1 to cyprus, 1 to Finland, 1 to France and none have had problems so far. The way I see it, I'm increasing my chances of selling the item cos there's more people. Plus they have different interests/styles and I wonder if they also find it difficult to get our brands. So my stuff that's years out of fashion in the UK market are desirable to people in other countries cos they're not influenced by UK fashion trends?Debt free in
