Well I've been paid for the beaver uniforms that I had to open the NPB case for so that's good. Unfortunately, I have had one of my listings pulled as it breaches a policy. It's only a boring retro EPNS bread/cake/fish or fruit knife but they have said that because it's not an item of cutlery, it's a weapon . It so isn't a weapon but I'm powerless to do anything about it.
Hopefully they won't start marking my account or I'll end up losing it because someone's reported my listing incorrectly. :(.

  • Hello!

I've been lurking on here for about a week now, can I join please? I'm aiming for 1 bag per week.

We're moving house soon so I'm hoping to get rid of as much as I can before we go. The more I sell the less I'll have to pack / unpack and the more money I'll make to spend on shiny new things for my lovely new house!

I sold my cross trainer for £32 on Friday, not bad considering I bought it second hand for £40 over two years ago:beer:
I also sold a meerkat toy yesterday for £19, do these 2 items together count as one bag?

I've now listed 6 more items due to finish at the weekend which I'm hoping will count as my second bag?!

Also looking for some tips, what's the best way to package shoes?

Kaz, have you contacted ebay to tell them that it's a cutlery item? I'd also tell them that you think it's a malicious report & you're concerned about the FB & stars you're likely to get, you may get someone sensible.
Pupsicle, welcome. If I don't have a shoe box, I've posted shoes well wrapped in bubble wrap & then a plastic mailer, not had a complaint that they've been damaged.

  • I've managed to top the table now and have sold a bed only a day after it was listed- yaay!
We do have some furniture left, honestly- its just that we've been decorating my son's bedroom!

I need to get my postage sorted out though as I posted 2 items today and overcharged for one and under charged for the other- both by about 75p, so not too drastic but not ideal.

Welcome pupsicle, I'm new to this thread too :)

I listed about 3 bags of stuff [not bothered about the stars :} ] - sold some, bids on others and watchers on more. Relisted some bits but if they don't sell this time then they are going to the charity shop as they are naff CD's lol. One item that I thought might sell for a couple of quid went for £18!!! OMG!! People are nutty lol

Must update my siggy with my totals

:hello::hello::hello::hello::hello::hello: I will add you to the list :D

Rosygirl - I agree with the just getting on with it - So much i used to spend time looking at completed listings rather than just listing mine - So now I sometimes copy and paste the listings that have the most bids etc that have sold and just tweek the wording - saves time too and I know everything like key words are covered :o
Mumof2 - Just a tip - I would schedule the listings for a lot later time than you plan to list incase you cant get on the internet 5 mins before - Its still okay to list say an hour after that way your not rushing to the computer either and you will save 6p on each if your internet goes down or your not in or something ;)
zepsgal - Congratulations  on the new arrival to the family - Im sure OH would prefer ebay than dirty nappies :rotfl:
pupsicle - Well done on the meerkat - think i will be adding mine now after hearing that ;)

As for listing I tend to list items not around tea time or daytime - buyers may not be available , And most of my lsitings end between 7pm - 10.30pm depending on the category really , and at least 5 mins apart from each other incase someone wants more than one item . I try my best to do 10 day listings
    • Tues =- Friday eve - { most people have just been paid- if weekly }
    • Weds = Sat eve - later auctions seem to do better
    • Thurs = Sun eve - I put most to end then that I think i will get more money for or I think might not sell - as people may want combined shipping if they have already purchased from me .

qazitory - I try to list similar items at the same weekend as i find it also attracts the same bidders - which then attracts new buyers due to the amount of bids .

This week I am listings my daughters clothing that doesnt fit - but I have some books to that i am preping - but will not list till next week when i have more books i will have ready to sell .
I placed all my daughters fancy dress clothes that don't fit her on a few weeks ago as book day is tommorrow so i had buyers purchasing for that so i got £22 for something i bought off a car boot for her for 50p the outfit - i was well shocked :D

Well done everyone on stars and I will update later on my months profit and what items are in my bag tonight :o

    CONGRATULATIONS!- fantastic news!

Really pleased for you- I took mine 3 times when I was 17/18 and failed. It was nearly 10 years later when I got round to it again in a different part of the country and passed. I gave the rather startled examiner a big smacker on the cheek! :D

Oh and congrats on having hot water and heating back as well!
