Really pleased as I put on a couple of items last weekend that I wasn't sure would even go- one has sold for nearly £9 today and the other has a couple of bids now so that's a result for me.
Have listed a couple of large items of furniture today so fingers crossed that they go as well as similar items have.
I used to spend ages fussing over listing my items, which meant I didn't get around to listing much- I have now realised it's much better to just get on with it and I get more done!

I've never sold on ebay, just bought stuff. Hopefully I've done the listing right! :S

I have loads more stuff, so it should keep me busy for a while. I'm saving any profit I make towards a really good holiday next year with the kids. :)

Hope you enjoyed the film Sleepless!

I like the idea of the Netflix cashback offer but when the film's being streamed does it cut out at all? Our internet connection here is really wobbly and we frequently lose it. Would really like an extra £15 though!

Found the streaming quality to be very good, just need to watch 5 hours of content via quidco to qualify for cashback. You can monitor your minutes via the site. People also seem to be acessing the US site for extra content (not had time to figure out how to do this as yet).

Welcome to the thread Littestflower & megsmaw06 :)

Megsmaw06 - i am going to be at my computer most of the day and hopefully geting a few listings done too - if you would like to PM me your ebay user ID i'd be happy to take a quick look over your listing to look any glaring mistakes, even though i'm sure there are none.

I've listed 5 items so far today :T Feeling like i'd like to take a break though, must not stop yet

Good luck with your listings everyone

  • Hi everyone  This is a great challenge and I have been following and been inspired by your progress :T
I'm new to Eb*y and hope I can pick up a bit of advice from the experts!

I sold 6 of the 9 items I listed on the last free listing weekend about 2 wks ago. I've got the bug as I made a bit more money than I anticipated and have hunted around the house for about 25 more things to list this weekend. It's saying I can only list 4. Is there anyway of increasing this so I can list them all this weekend? It says I have restricted sales for 90 days because of being a new but I registered as a seller in July last year and sold 1 item then. ANy help and advice greatly appreciated

Littlestflower it sounds like you have a monthly listing restriction of selling 10 items a month. You have sold 6, therefore it will only allow you to list 4 more this month. Your listing limits will automatically increase once you have shown yourself to be a good seller (feedback & stars for selling).

You may be able to increase your listing allowences by confirming your paypal information etc, are you verified? You can also contact ebay to request your listing limits are increased.

I can't seem to find the page in my ebay which tells you what your listing limits are at the moment grrr, i could just being blind but i think there is a link on that to request higher selling limits

  • :T Thanks so much Sleepless for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it. I've gone to verify my account but that takes '2-3 days' so I'm going to miss out on listing more than 4 things today. Hopefully though the newbie restrictions will be lifted before the next free listing weekend and the I'll be all set for that. Do these happen quite often or is it just chance in the time I've become an Eb*y convert that there have been 2?! I used to have a second job but with one thing and another circumstances dictated I had to give it up, so have been feeling the squeeze....hence trying to throw myself into this. I moved last year and now live on my own. I thought I was quite 'clutter free' but have been surprised how many bits and pieces I have found when I put my mind to it!

Good luck everyone with your listing efforts this weekend. I look forward to hearing how you get on

Should I have said how many bags after asking to join? Was waiting for permission!

    Anyway:
    Rosygirl: 2 bags per week

Er, what does a table count as?-

  • Littlest flower, many of us use the schedule listings feature to prep listings and 'store' them until the next free listing weekend, will it allow you to schedule listings for the future? this way you can still prep and have them ready in advance. Read back back the last two pages or so on here to get detailed instructions on how to schedule listings. I'm not sure if this will work with your listing limits but worth a try? If not prehaps write up the details anyway and save them in word or something. Alternatively come list all my stuff for me :rotfl:As a very general rule there seems to be a free listing weekend every two/three weeks so hopefully won't be too long a wait, it might be worth leaving your customers feedback to try and prompt them to leaving you feedback too this will help :)

Rosygirl just jump on in to the thread, i did & no one minded :D I aim to list 7 items a week (one a day) extra on a free listing weekend if possible so i count 7 items has my one bag. Depends how high you've stacked your table & how big it is? If it's like my table then it's probably something like 20 bags :rotfl:

I've still only listed 5 items today :o Maybe the highly stacked table is actually just too daunting for me, little steps, little steps...

2 more items sold for £17 today, very pleased. Need to make £125 back during March to compensate for concert tickets I've bought
  • Thank you Sleepless. I have been photographing, weighing and writing up some of my things in the hope that when the time comes it will make it easier!

Bearing in mind listing 9 things the other weekend took me nearly 6 hrs................I might not be up to the job just yet!!

What more unusual things have you all found that sell well that you wouldn't have expected?

  • Can anyone please advise me.

I listed an item on ebay which someone won last Saturday. I am still waiting for payment.

They won it on Saturday, I sent an invoice on Sunday....nothing. Sent a reminder invoice on Tuesday and then sent a message yesterday.....still nothing.

    What do I do now?

I can see a dispute resolution thing on ebay, do I use this or can I just re-list the item and sell it again?

It is the first time this has happened so Im not sure what to do.
