VGA or component isn't a HD input mate, VGA is for anologue PC connections, and component is a preferred analogue connection rendering improved quality over RF/Scart.
HDMI is the only HD input there.0 -

Nonsense
VGA/Component/HDMI can all carry HD signals there for they are HD inputs. In fact many have reported that component gives superior results than HDMI.
Not to forget DVI which was the preferred input for HD before HDMI took over.
HDMi is certainly not the "Only" HD capable interface.

I was under the impression you needed HDMI to decrypt the HD signal?0 -
So, how does the decryption happen?0

Well thats a little above my remit I'm afraid, I'm a Network engineer not HD guru
I imagine there would be plenty of info on google/avforums but my basic understanding would be there HD ready TV would have hardware to decrypt the signal passed by an HD capable interface.
I mean what is the question being asked here? is HDMI the only interface capable of passing a HD singal? No, certainly not.
Can VGA/Component/DVI/HDMI carry HD signals? Yes they can.
