  • arcsbite, I believe the YT08 is being replaced with a new model which has 2 HDMI inputs.

Not sure about the google checkout thing.

Shame your first TV packed up. I'd have thought Hannspree could have offered you the new version as a replacement but never mind. Hope you have greater luck next time.

Bit of a nightmare with the YT08...

...after a 24 or so I noticed in the bottom left of the screen that the backlight was/had been bleeding and a white corner had appeared.

24 hours after that a lerge chunk of the right side of the screen had bled through.

    I was gutted.
Called ebuyer who sent a courier to take it back, they told me it was covered under manufacturer warranty for a direct replacement.

I got in tonight to find a message from ebuyer, They have discontinued the YT08,so after 5 days of waiting for delivery, 24 hours of use, 48 hours of problems and 3 days of returns they have issued a refund...
...it will clear in 3-5 days.

at which point I can start looking for another TV.
A shame as I really liked the YT08...and now my living room has a gaping hole in it.

I have been through the same thing (albeit a different fault) with Hannspree and got a replacement set and the set was five days old. If you still have the set and want it exchanging, drop me a PM and I can give you some details of the people I dealt with at hannspree Head office.

My new set works really well and looks great on the 360 and hd-dvd...can't fault it for the money...:T

I have the YT model brought a couple of months ago from Teleland, with a 5 year warranty (did it on c.card just in case) Have to say I am very pleased and no problems or dead pixels!

Have a Sigmatek HD upscaling dvd player connected via HDMI and it is stunning.
My Mind wanders, if found please return.
