the correct link - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/LG/37LZ55/392041
the detailed spec: http://audiovisual.kelkoo.co.uk/b/a/ps_15387781/100311823.html
better contrast ratio (1200:1) and higher brightness (600), but only one HDMI input. And a couple of kilos heavier (other websites say 28kg, not 18!)
plus - poor reviews, very poor customer service as it is known to blow up and repair is 3 weeks, all without replacement tv!!!
any thoughts?0 -
This avforums thread http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=248919 suggests the LG 37LZ55 is one to avoid.Joe

Hi all
Still aint found the sky digi remote code.
Sorry to say, you probably never will.
The codes are produced by Sky, their database is hopelessly out of date and worst, with so many " new " manufacturers coming on the scene, there is little chance of Sky being able to produce codes for each and every TV.
Your only hope is that your TV shares the same code with one of the bigger brand TV's, but even some of them do not have Sky codes for their LCD/Plasma TV's.
Sorry that doesn't help your plight, but it is the reality of the situation.0 -
I gather that this tv is probably made up of various manufacturers bits, i.e. an LG panel etc etc, I suspect a code meant for another manufacturer would work, I remember an old 'beko' made tv worked with a samsung code. Depends who makes the remote and infa red bits i suppose??
anbody fancy trying the codes from 0001 to 9999? lol:)
one word of warning on this tv set is that for some reason it doesnt auto resize the picture size, so can be a bit of a pain when watching Sky as you need two remotes handy and have to keep clicking the aspect button to put the picture in the correct proportion.
can be an bug if you channel flick a lot.:(
bit silly really as most tvs's have had this feature built in for years. still unsure whether its actually a fault with this model, as waiting back to hear from the retailers about the issue, who are going to contact Hanspree to see.

My Tv resizes without any problems, aspect is spot on every time.
Only problem I do notice sometimes is that it'll drop its source and won't auto change source when this happens. Bit of a pain as all I have on my Kameleon remote is the standby button so I have to dig out the tv remote when this happens to change the source back. As I say though is doesn't happen often at all.

Could you let us know what they say pls?Mine does this too. I have to press the aspect button to resize the image when flicking channels. It's a bit annoying.Has anyone discussed the remote with the retailer? Just checking before I email them. Mine is hopeless, and we even have switch the set off and on again to make it work.ps, still happy with the set tho!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
If I don't reply to you, I haven't looked back at the thread.....PM me0 -

Really, yours auto resizes the picture each time? Are you watching sky via a scart lead?
Now im not sure if mines faulty or notas I have read somewhere else that someones isnt resizing either.
Can anybody here confirm if their tv is resizing the picture (or not) automatically when watching sky with a scart?
Really trying to get to the bottom of this, still waiting on the retailers to give me a definate answer. :cool:0 -

AOC LCD HDTV 32" L32W551T Black Retail Television POP
£299.95. £30 delivery
is it any good?is there a catch?
its an aoc which is the other brand they have on the intelx website-the op's original link
i know nothing about tv's and am on the verge of getting the hanspree 37"
but is the one on ebay any good
oh,and how do i change that long link above into a smaller link with a different title,if you know what i mean?
thanks for any help0 -
Pretty sure this one has been posted before but as this is now a mega thread it would be easy to miss it if it had. I've been looking at the AOC as well, there's a thread on avforums about it and it sounds a pretty decent one.
Intekk sell them for £340 + £12 delivery, although the ebay link is about £20 cheaper I think I'd get one from them rather than an ebay seller with no history of selling tv's.0 -
Hi all,
Can anyone hear confirm if their TV auto resizes the picture when watching Sky via a scart?
Trying to find out whether mine should do this or not, as it aint and the retailers cant tell me if it should or not.
Cheers
