Close up all large LCD/Plasma screens look dodgy.

I got my Hanspree which I connected to my V+ by HDMI and found that the picture was extremely pixellated, even on BBC HD and On Demand HD content. Noticable from a distance.

I've connected the V+ by Component and the picture seems a lot better from a distance but when I'm upclose the picture doesnt look that great. Is this normal? Sorry never had a HD tv before.

Do you think my HDMI cable might be dodgy? Or the V+ box? Or is it my new TV?

Your HDMI cable will be fine as its digital...not like scart leads and so forth where you buy a cable and pay extra for the quality. With it being digital, it will either work or it won't, so you can rule out the cable if you have a picture...

With SD you will get pixelation, but I wouldn't have expected it from HD. I know on some of the HD that I have seen, I have been a little suprised to see small pixelations, but I just thought that may have been me being overly critical...maybe I wasn't after all...

    Hyundai

    hey guys,

I've just read this whole thread..it's now 5:35am..I'm ready to order, just a quick question...

I see you are talking about the HANNspree XV 37" JT02 lcd tv
the cheapest price I've seen is £487.50 at intekx

but then ebuyer has the Hanspree XV 37" YT08 lcd tv
their price is £443.10 (£433.10 using google checkout)

anyone know what the difference between the sets are?
is one better than the other?

I'm really new to this and have been researching for days, I was almost sold on the Mirai 32" when I realised for £70-£100 more I could get a 37" set.

    any help is greatfully received

monterey - Please note - TECO became Relisys, which then became Relisys Digital....all 3 companies have now gone into liquidation.

unsure if that would have an impact on warrany claims.

If you have another night to spare then read this thread on these Hanspree TV's

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=474454

Its now a very long thread of 90 pages and 1350 posts so best of luck.

For what it's worth I have the JT model and for the money spent I am more than happy, I do have the issue of video tearing when watching films via vga connection from my laptop but I can overcome the worst of it by reducing the desktop size and frequency, buts thats a whole other story.

The differences are well covered in the thread.

    wow
that looks like a helluva lot of reading.
these threads should come with summaries and cliff notes!
  • I too have the Hannspree JT02 37" model and am well pleased with it.
  • all I can gather is that the JT is superior in specs to the YT (don't know what though)
and the JT is gloss whilst the YT is Matte
  • Just to let you guy's know that I mounted my Hannspree to the wall at the weekend and it looks really cool. I'm still happy with the TV but I do feel it struggles with skin tones (they appear slightly green to me, and edges of facial features can go a bit odd with quick movement). Worth the money for sure.
The mount I brought is: http://www.avrabbit.com/product-AVR-abf2637-lcd-wall-mount-420.html
