I would wait another 5 years as all existing LCD/Plasma TV,s will be obsolete, especially the ones with built in Freeview.
MPEG-4 will be the new Freeview standard, and Sky has already applied to transmit their existing channels in this format, which will leave existing boxes/receivers with black screens.
In 5 years we could all be dead!!!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

I brought this tv a few days ago and thought I'd share my opinions.
I'm no expert in lcd tvs so I can't really give a useful review of the tv but I feel for the price its a good buy. You just have to remember that it cost less than £500 so be happy with it. Theres no major flaws with it and the design of it looks great, picture quality is what you'd expect, its not a £1000 tv but its fine.
Heres a video review from cnet: http://reviews.cnet.com/Hannspree_Xv/4507-6482_7-32146139.html
The menu system is a bit different and so is the connections layout but the rest of the tv is the same.
If your having reservations about buying this but you can't afford £1000 then get this tv.
Now can anyone help me?
How do I go about getting the tv set up for surround sound, theres only the two Audio out sockets which you could connect it to a stereo. Is it possible to get prologic stereo?0 -

I've got this TV as well and some of my cousins can't believe the quality compared to their more expensive sets. Definately worth the price which includes 2 year on-site warranty.
As for your setup I would look in https://www.avforums.com.0 -
This fabulous TV is now an amazing £433 on ebuyer - info found on HotUKDeals and big respect to gd_miester over there.
If only I hadn't bought this set LAST WEEK for £50 more!

Currys yesterday (friday)
Went in at 10am to get a cheapo kettle, ours packed in, bit of a tea junky is the missus. Can't be doing without a kettle.
Comes out the store at 10.15am having bought ...
LG RZ37LZ55 37'' LCD TV, end of line, just been put out on display, 1 year guarantee ... salesman said they were just wanting rid of old stock. Assured me there was nothing wrong with it, wasnt a return or anything like that & they had wondered about the price themselves but were just "obeying orders" by putting it on sale for that price.
You've never seen anyone part company with le plastique fantastique so quickly. Why ?
£297.00
Can't find a link for it on the Currys website, assume it's been taken off, might be worth noseying around your local branch.
Here's a link for it on the richer sounds website.

I've always read about other folks getting a good deal. Never happened to me though in 40+ years. Works a treat. That, plus a £49 quid "upscaling" dvd player means we've "almost" got a high definition system for a lot less than I expected. And frankly we couldn't have afforded it otherwise.
Gets home. With a huge TV. And minus a kettle. Gets my ears totally chewed off by her indoors. You just can't win0 -
I got my Hanspree which I connected to my V+ by HDMI and found that the picture was extremely pixellated, even on BBC HD and On Demand HD content. Noticable from a distance.
I've connected the V+ by Component and the picture seems a lot better from a distance but when I'm upclose the picture doesnt look that great. Is this normal? Sorry never had a HD tv before.
Do you think my HDMI cable might be dodgy? Or the V+ box? Or is it my new TV?0
